FFG 16 vs FKS 140 L

i have searched the search bar so dont comment please saything that...

i am looking for the lighter binding and the best for nothing but park skiing. im not worried about price.

FFG 16 is the STH (in case you weren't aware), They're the binding I trust, durable as fuck. As for weight, why? It's a binding, the difference is minuscule. If it's lighter, it'll probably have more plastic. More plastic = more likelihood to break.

im just looking for the lightnest binding cos it will then be easier to chuck the ski. how easy do FKS break?

STH 16/FFG 16 > FKS 140

The fks 140 has a really shitty toe piece.

pus my STH16s seem to be the best bindings I have ever stuck on a ski.

How big of a skier are? Any advanced skier that isn't tiny isn't going to notice the difference between the weight in two bindings. I don't have the weight for you, I don't know how easy the 140s break. I do know that you'd have no trouble throwing either of them around on your skis.

im 6 foot and 140 lbs. im a pretty advanced skier and push my skis a fair big more then most skiers. i would have my din at about 10 but no more so i dont need the fks 180's.

but the difference is that you have the metal toe piece.

I have look pivot 18's and rock the din around 11 and have ejected just fine, plus that whole binding just feels so bomber. I doubt you push your skis as hard as you say you do, but if you do then dont even waste your time looking at a binding that doesnt have a metal toe.

^^yep. Metal > plastic. You may be lighter, but you sacrifice durability with it. If you are an advanced skier, why worry about weight? It shouldn't be a problem for you.

I completely disagree. I've broken 10 baseplates on FKS/Pivots and a few brakes, but only had minor problems with STH 16s. Go for old 997 Equipes, 916s or STH 16 Steels if you want the most bomber bindings going.

in the last year, i have seen more "broken FKS" threads than any other binding, Followed by marker, then Salomon.  Haven't seen any Head/tyrolia broken binding threads, perhaps due to them being the largest binding maker on the market, get head and call it quits.

If you break a brake on your FKS, you're boned. Solly bindings usually break if if it's a Z toe. Never seen a complaint for the STH. Those Head/Tyrollia/4FRNT bindings have nothing but high reviews. So pick your poison.

I have tyrolia MOJO 15s on my park skis, only thing I can say after 3 seasons there is a bit of play in the heal piece... which you can feel whilst skiing..

Kinda sucks.. but don't really use my park skis anymore.

no one uses head bindings... umm lets see:
elan, Fischer, head, tyrolia, 4frnt all use the same binding design

lets see look rossignol and dynastar all use that design.

which company is bigger, and produces more bindings? what is the most widely purchased binding design by other companies? Head/tyrolia... as the used to say back in the day "give me rossignol or give me head"

ill take some head!
