Building an S rail

So I am taking a metals class right now and the teacher said that I could make an S rail. Any suggestions on how tall and long it should be? Also, what diameter pipe should I use?

3 or 4 feet tall, 40 ft long, like 2-3 inch diameter pipe

be sure to get the right arc length for each of the semi-circles. Besides being symmetrical, they can't have too much of a bend or too little. I think someone was saying that the best ones are based on sine curves or something... but I am in lowly pre-cal so I don't know if that's bull or not.

how big it should be should depend on were your gonna put it and if you need to be able to move it.

make it that you can take off the legs and put it at another place to be a S-rail then you could transform it into a whales tail

That would be sick, but what were you talking about with those calculations, because I heard somewhere that it has to do with some physics calculations too.

Depends on what time you useing it, if you going to use it for summer jibs as well as winter dont make it too tall. Like 40-50 is good length. And also consider what you want to be doing on it, you want it to be supper challegeing or want some thing you can switch up on.
