Ok So This is a story about me having to take responsibility for my actions back in High School. I was in my wood shop class and we happened to have a sub for the day. I'm not sure if any of you have had a sub in a class that's normally hands on and entertaining. For us we had to sit there and watch multiple monotone videos about working with tools. It felt like I was having Novocain being massaged into my brain. and the only stimulation we received was the substitue Mr. Bangert yelling at us ever few minutes. Normally I don't mind the hour and 40 minute classes but this was getting out of control. after about an hour of listening to this sub who obviously hates kids as much as his job, I happend to look around the room and noticed the doors all open to the outside. I convinced a few other classmates to help me mess with the sub when class was over. They all agreed to my plan and we where ready to rock. 10 minutes before class is over our school rings a warning bell to allow the classes time to clean up and put things away. When the warning bell rang our class got up and went out side waiting to go to our next class. Mr Bangert followed us out and I was the last student out the door before I turned around and told him he left the tv and vcr on. so he went back to shut it of and i gave the signal to my other cohorts. I shut the door behind me and jammed a 2X4 under the door handle locking it shut and then placed a note on the door sending the next classes to the library. my friends did the same to all the other doors.
We went on to our next class and at the end of the day I got called into the office. Apparently our plan worked and he was locked in the classroom for 2 periods, until he decided to kick the door down. one of the guys who helped me told on the rest of us and was crying as I was walking into the principals office.
The principal yelled at me and told me all the laws we broke by locking him into the classroom, as well that I was going to have to pay for the damages. and I told him that the sub should have used the phone that was by the door and called the office instead of kicking the door down. I was suspended for two days and had to write and apology letter to Mr. Bangert. so when I got home I wrote my apology saying that "I have learned my lesson most of all being that, Every action has a reaction. due to my actions I was suspended and had to miss school as well as have a black mark on my record. and that since you kicked the door down instead of using the phone you will have to pay for the damages". He never subbed in our school district again.
