Lots of hype about "Fly-Cam"?

I know it's a low end, cheap glidecam type thing, but has anyone used one? My main concern is that it breaks in the first 3months and the I'm down $175 that couldve gone towards a legit glidecam. Also Has anyone had any problems at all with them? +++kkk to answers! Thanks m&a

i haven't had personal experience, but i've pretty much come to believe that if you get them balanced and are good at using it, the results will be on par with a glidecam. the down side is that they are poorly built and are more difficult to balance than glidecams. if you can afford a real glidecam, get it.

I have one, definitely a bit more difficult to balance, but they work exactly the same as a glidecam. Not sure what you heard about durability, but mine has gone through quite a bit. I've dropped it on gravel, ice, in snow, gotten it wet, and banged it on walls and rails quite a few times. Nothing is broken. If you go into my videos my latest edit (Peace Out!) is filmed entirely using my Flycam 300 W/ Nikon D3100 18-105

Nice to hear there durable, still doesn't look as nice as a glidecam when it comes down to the actual filming

I've heard from someone who has experience with one that it doesn't handle big movements as well as a glidecam does, but can handle small ones fairly well

this is true. if it is balanced correctly it will be fine just skiing down, but going over a roller or something it will not be able to handle it. If you have the money get a legit glidecam

worst piece of shit equipment I ever bought. save a bit and buy the glidecam immediately. the construction is pure garbage. the bottom plate is soft metal so it can warp easily and cause it to be unbalanced. The screws that hold the top part are impossible to tighten and always jiggle, the handle doesnt stick so it can slip while your shooting. and last of all theres a connection on a pivot also that jiggles like a mad man after a while. so after a few months your fly cam is looking more like a jiggle cam. Because I bought this piece of trash, Im now going to spend the extra dollars on the real deal. probably getting a 4000 pro so I can have something good that will last.

I have owned my flycam for about 8 months now and I am yet to have any problems with it. It's one of the best investments i've made in my opinion.

yea, this. My bottom plate is warped, and the screw become loose all the time and shake constantly. Plus the little plastic tube things that hold the weight broke. Get a real glidecam

I have never used a real glidecam so I don't have a proper comparison but it seems to come out of balance extremely easily and the bottom plate is really soft. I fell with it while skateboarding and the bottom plate bent really easily.

Get a real steadicam. Flycams are a knockoff of a knockoff.
