That was pretty great. If voter turnout is high this year, CO will legalize and tax, but I guess the federal government will probably shut that down...Don't really know, haven't been paying enough attention.
pretty good video. he makes a lot of points that have been made many times before but are still relevant. but i think people lose a lot of credibility when they call weed 'harmless.' sure it's safer than most other substances, but if you're smoking it, then smoking is still bad for you no matter what, and it's still less safe to drive while high. calling it harmless seems to be getting a little carried away. other than that, solid rant.
i dont think he meant it that way. im not trying to split hairs but the fact is when you smoke your are in a different mental state. you arent sober. and although being high is not nearly as destructive as being drunk, you still arent yourself so to speak. thats why its called being high. i changes your mood and thought process, which isnt necessarily "harmless". thats why people are scared of it. i dont think it truly has any negative health effects, but im no expert so dont quote me on that. always new research coming out
I agree. When you drive high, at least the first couple times, I can say from experience that you are much more prone to getting into an accident that driving sober. You tend to not focus as much on the road and instead focus on the distractions around you. In that aspect it can be very dangerous.
what will means is that your still burning material and inhaling the smoke. even tho the deposits in your lungs are nowhere near as bad or even in the same ballpark as cigs, there's always gonna be some kind of buildup that is accumulated in your lungs from the plant material.
although if you really wanna get technical you could only vape your weed and it would leave no deposits in your lungs, and your lungs would show no effects of marijuana use.
i know quite a few runners and athletes who are concerned that if they smoked it would decrease their stamina (although there havent been tests to prove this from what i know) so they only have a vape they use. no bongs, blunts, j's, pipes, nothing for these kids but vapor.
As far as I'm aware the only (yes I said only) negative effect that comes from Mary smoke isn't even long-term! When the smoke comes into contact with your lungs it paralyzes (temporarily) the cilia on the linings of your lungs. I'm no med student so I can't really tell you what happens after that but yea...
As for driving high, definitely a potential concern. However, I drive whilst baked somewhat regularly and find that once you're a seasoned toker you tend to let that 'focus' from a high carry over into your driving, whereas people who have never done it before are too paranoid/twitchy to remain focused and calm behind the wheel.
The cillia in your lungs allow mucus to be able to be move through your lungs and body and what not. When they are paralized they cannot perform their opperation. The same thing happens when smoking cigeretts. Thats why people get smokers cough because they have to do what their body cannot.
