you can tell it's good because it's raining in a lot of the shots, hard to use a camera in those conditions

I mean, even though it has some great shots, i feel like the cinematography was not as good as some other aspects of that video.

sarcasm aside, you are right about why it's so popular, that's part of why it bugs me so much. if you're going to shoot a anamorphic image natively that's fine, but to crop a DSLR's image so much solely for the purpose of looking 'artsy' just seems silly to me.

Aside from the hipster imagery, dancing homosexual on the roof, and overcropped aspect ratio, I really enjoyed those colors.

Yeah, the edit, especially the sound edit, was way better than the cinematography. It was pretty good for an experimental film.

My feelings exactly. Not sure what was up with half clothed dancing guy and the crop is to the point where it's laughable, but the colors were really nice.
