so i searchbared it and found stuff but they were all 3 to 5 years old. i am graduating with ski area management and im thinking about going their next winter for internship to either work snowmaking or do ski instruction. i was wonderining if anybody here works their today and can tell me stuff about it or about the hill

Was just there today chilling with warren miller. The hill is pretty dope. Idk how i would feel about working there. There is a lot of money, it would be fun. But it would get old after awhile.

I live in big sky and it is pretty cool to live next to all these rich people. But I would much rather work my way up in management at an actual resort that is public.

havent heard much negative from friends who have worked up there. pay is very good at almost every position and itd be a great experience for someone with a degree in ski management. go for it

heard from the son of a member earlier this winter that the good aggressive lines stay fresh for a while, due to minimal rich gaper traffic.

I was fortunate enough to spend a week there and ski with a friend. Place is really sick. Pow stays fresh all day long and never wait in lines. I would definitely take the opportunity to work there if I was you for just the networking aspect of it. You can make some really good connections with all the people that live there...could get yourself a better paying job

I've actually been there on 3 separate occasions over the years, a friends dad made an investment with some other people in a house there and was allowed in until the place sold. If you haven't been there, its fucking heaven on earth. I couldn't imagine a place cooler than that to live and hang out.

As for working there, I would say go for it. Any time your surrounded by millionaires and billionaires it can't be a bad thing. Maybe you'll meet some people and get hooked up. Or at the very least get to ski a private mountain on your days off, doesn't get much sicker than that. All the employees I came into encounters with seemed really really stoked.

They really don't let employees ski? We'll then I guess you should try to get a job teaching lessons, or maybe park crew, they had a baby park last time I went.

Money, and a lot of it.

According to wikipedia, the entrance fee is $250k, plus you have to buy a house, $5-35 million, plus $20k a year membership fees.

I am currently posting this from a computer in the rental shop at the yellowstone club. This is my first season working in the rental shop and it has been great. Good pay, 4 days on 3 days off, employee ski days and free lunch. It has been one of the best jobs for me and I plan on staying for a while. I would say go for it and you would be more than welcome to come chill with me in the shop!

i work at the YC currently, we get to ski twice a month at the YC, sometimes more. then we have an employee party on 4/23 where we can bring a friend or family to the closing day party! it's a cool place to work, can get ridiculous sometimes dealing with some of the members, but most of them are really cool and down to earth. they also buy all their employees a ski pass to whatever mountain you choose near the club; so big sky, moonlight basin, bridger bowl are your choices.

Our employee ski days in April were just this past Monday and Wednesday and on Monday we got 13" overnight and it was bluebird. There was maybe 100 people skiing that day, the ridge was awesome. things like that make up for some of the bullshit you might have to deal with during the season.

It would be a place worth looking at. They are great to work for and all of the bosses are super chill. On paper, they can't allow you to ski (except for on bi monthly employee days) but the reality of it is much different. They are super chill about letting you shred.


The terrain is super sick too.

There's no way I could work there. I would get soooo damn sick of all the ungodly rich out of staters you work around. Personal opinion I guess. But for me, I'll be completely happy if I never go there or get stuck with some "members"
