Just got the sickest summer job

Basically my internship opportunity kinda went out the window because of some reasons, i got another summer left for one though. So anyways i saw an add for acura help wanted. Didnt know what went in. Got the job as a "Car swapper". Basically my job is to literally just drive around in brand new acura's bringing casr between dealers. Get 10 bucks an hour which is ok. And i just drive all around the northeast, maybe farther and get paid to drive and listen to the radio in a pretty decent car. Hoping to get a chance to drive the new acura NSX if it comes out in time because its a super wealthy area and theres gotta be someone who watns one

Ha yea good point though im pretty sick at driving stick. And the other kid if I crash i take it im brutally fucked definatly fired, but its not break it you buy it so hopefully that doesnt happen

A couple of my friends do it. Get paid more. Nice mellow job but at the same time, don't fuck up one of those cars.

This is no personal jab at you but I fucking hate how no one on this site can spell definitely.

Anyway yeah good luck with the clutch points and enjoy the tips, my friend worked valet at this restaurant downtown when we were in high school and he made a lot of money in tips.

Lol it won't be a problem if you can drive stick at all.. I've never stalled or fucked up driving a standard car for my first time. Don't drive stick by memory, drive it by feel

a couple summers ago i drove vans for hotels, picking people up. it was wicked easy and you got tipped often. i assume you will love your job.

ha yea it kinda blows my mind how easy going the guy was about giving me the job. And to all the haters about the clutch, iv been driving a stick every single day for the last 4 years i think i can handle a new car ill just figure out where the clutch point is, push the clutch in more than i have to or whatever.

I just want a show at driving the nsx this year. I know ill encounter one at one point being in a super wealthy area

clutchpoints are usually a lot different on a new car. to all the ppl saying it will take 2 seconds to get used to it

I'm guessing younger people are more willing to drive cars around for dirt cheap. Not all young drivers are fucking idiots, they just need to find trustworthy ones.

They will probably have brand new, stock clutches. Anyone who can drive stick should be able to do that no problem at all. I mean it's not like you are going to be high rev shifting with a racing clutch. He's probably going to be granny shifting them at low rpm like they were designed to do.

I had a job where I had to drive all sorts of cars, from brand new to super old, and drive them around a parking lot and then up onto ramps. It wasn't hard at all. I literally had more trouble trying to start some cars and release the parking brake.

Yeah I know I just mean as a group it's a risky thing. It's just that no one else will do it for that cheap. My brother is pretty responsible but he still does typical teenager stuff, speeding etc. it's just the nature of young men haha

worddd, i love my summer job. 5 minutes away from my house, lifeguarding at my local lake, 22 bucks an hour.....but its at juvenile home, which isn't that bad.

The max I've ever heard lifeguards getting paid is $11 and hour. Are you a supervisor or some higher position?

nope starting salary, started last summer. The area where i live most lifeguards get around 15 an hour. They were desperate for somebody to fill the position, so i kinda just went for it. I think the pay is just more due to the fact that its a juvenile home, these places really aren't as bad as everyone hypes them up to be.

2 of my friends are lifeguards. one makes 15 and hour for lifeguarding and 13 and hour for teaching lessons.

the other gets 14 an hour for lifeguarding and 13 for lessons.

Sounds like a dream job for some quick summer cash if you don't have many expenses. Alone and cruising and listening to talk radio or a sick book. I know audiobooks are geriatric but I love them for long drives

finding a super precise clutch point only really matters if you're trying to start quickly. in any stick if you let the clutch out slowly above 1000 the car will start to roll

yea unfortunately for me my job let me go because of business being slow, i was a fish monger during the summer made so much money. This job don't expect to make as much, but wayy less physical labor, dont have to deal with bitchy customers all day. Not that i dont like doing that, im a people person, but this is a nice change. Also has a potential to move up a little bit if i do well tthis summer move up to the sales floor during the school year, look decent on a resume.
