IMO Instragram is sick! Sure there are some shitty/careless photos that have a filter on them and then people for some reason think the are good photos. Most of my photos are like that. But there are some people on Instagram with really good content.

I think it's funny how much people hate on instagram. Yes, there are wayyy too many people that take it too seriously and put 'copyright' on their photos etc. However, I see instagram as another way for me to keep in touch with my friends that live around the world. Just a way to show them what I am doing, where I have been etc in a way that I normally couldn't. yup.

Instagram is simply for fun. The whole point is to put ridiculous filters on shit and make it look "artsy." Everyone knows they aren't professional photos that are well composed with great lighting and grading.

And to people saying they want to share photos, why not just use facebook or twitter? instagram literally took something you already do and made it an app so that you have more bullshit to jerk off to when you go on your smartphone.

Instagram the app = not awful. standard way of sharing pics. Sure you can use facebook but i'd rather keep 100,000,000 shitty pictures to a separate app/program/site

instagram photos=annoying when people think it actually looks good, fun when people know it's fake.

Boo fucking hoo. It's a way to take a photograph, just because it's accessible doesn't mean it's inferior. You don't see me bashing everyone in M&A because they don't shoot large format, do you? Photograph the way you want, and don't look down on other people just because they aren't as cool as you are.

I'd add photos to this mostly useless and redundant post if I had the money for an iphone. In place of photos, I will just add the comment that I'm selling L-series glass so I can get a P&S camera. Suck it, beyotches.

you can have instagram in europe, if you have an iphone. it's just an app where people take pics of shit in their life. whether they do it to be artsy, or just to share it. there are some cool pics on it. it's like a personal photo feed/blog.

As a photographer, an iPhone is a powerful tool. You can shoot, process, and share all on your phone, and at 8 megapixels, the images are actually usable for web. Instagram is just one of the many apps that you can use, it is the most popular one among 'non-photographers' because the filters are 1 click photos, but its a lot more powerful than that. I've shot photos where i've stacked multiple filters from different apps and the results come out pretty cool.

Basically, you can hate on the hipsters, but you can't hate on the actual app. I post a lot of my stuff shot on my iPhone on my blog, I only got it recently (phone) but I'll regularly be updating it.

Exactly, Instagram can be utilized for business pretty well if you are in any sort of media. Using other apps such as Snapseed can post process photos way better than instagram and create a pretty stunning image. Definitely a fan.
