Telemarking is weird, I don't see how it could be that enjoyable to have to ski like that, not to mention the carnage from landing frontseat... falling with touring bindings is bad enough when the tips of your skis stap under your kneecaps.

Fuck all you guys. Mommy I know your just rrying to piss me off fucktard. We just had this conversation about two weeks ago and ulitmatly I won the argument. Telemark isn't just for BC douche bags. You guys probably just haven't seen any good telemarkers in the park. I've ridden with guys who are better in the park than 95% of the people on this site. Doing 450's onto rails and Cork 9s over the 70 foot tables at Squaw. If you think it's lame it's out of arrogance. Telemarkers deserve their placve in the park just as much as any alpine skier on snowboarder. And with the really good people you'd never even know they were a telemarker. If you saw me throwing a big 180 over a 50 footer landing switch you wouldn't bee able to tell that my heel was free. I think telemarkers looks better landing switch since with a free heel you have to land switch more upright without putting your hands down like most apline skiers do.

Telemark skiing is sick. My friend is going to learn how to do it with his dad in the 'backcountry' of the northeast lol. Don't knock telemark skiing because it is really really fun to do.

You know, it would take a person as intelligent as me to point this out, but way back when, people were laughing their asses off at stupid motherfuckers skiing on twin tips, and I'll also point out that telemarking is a lot older than freestyling, amd just for the heck of it, I'll point out that the dopest pair of skis I've ever seen are telemarks. Because of Karhu's partnership with Line, there are tele versions of the Mothership (Jak), Chronic (Agent), Assassin MTX Pro (Kodiak), and Assassin MTX (Grizzly). K2 has tele versions of the Public Enemy (Piste Pipe) and the Seth Pistol (Hippy Stinx).

Is it difficult to learn? Seems like not many people give credit where its due. Looks cool though, definitely some sweet footage out there, but looks very similar to alpine jibbing in some respects.

word bitches...dont hate on tele...i tele and alpine....im a sponsored alpine skier and compete all the time but i enjoy tele because it has a different feel and its humbling for sure to ride park.....dont hate on the people who are progressing there own sport and having fun with it....instead give them props for trying new shit, and progressing another aspect of skiing.....by the way mad river is chill....and hippy jokes are fucking lame

i dont see why you dont like teleskiing! there both skiing and so what if one doesnt have the heel strapped in, i think it would probably take much more skill to do some stuff, such as land switch because you cant land forward

The reason why I like it is because my equipment allows me to make alpine and telemark turns. If I've tired out my thighs with the tele-turn, I can always let 'em run parallel for a while (-:
