i know i loved a few years ago when good people had gopros and they werent that popular. now whenever i go i see at least 10 5year olds with gopros on falling down the bunny hill. i mean i like gopro as a company and i want them to grow but god its annoying

well hopefully there are some kids mature enough to admit they're not all that good.

kids see me and think i'm really fucking good because i wear saga/oakley/sessions/jiberish. i mean i can hit just about any rail or box i've ever seen, fs 2 out of most, and fs sw/up some, but that's not very good compared to other kids on the hills i ski at. they'll watch me eat shit on some rail trying to switch up and just laugh cuz i'm wearing saga or something when I'm the one who paid full price for it. if you ever asked me if I was good i'd be quick to admit that i'm not

i do consider myself far superior than most skiers at ACTUALLY skiing. it makes me laugh to see kids k-fed a rail, then maintain the shittiest style and poise as they ski down the mountain.

GoPro must be making a shitton of money right now, so many gapers are filming themselves. Personally I am pretty over POV shots, I have a go pro but use it really rarely, and more for follow cams/timelapses, a bit of POV looks cool, but I never make it all the way through a POV only edit.

I am not going to be a pro skier or photographer. I use my gopro to document the way I spend some of my time. I don't expect my videos of me first learning blind swaps or 2s on a shitty little PVC feature at my house to hold any value for NS or the skiing community. However to my friends who session with me and my family who likes to see what I am up to it is a valuable asset. Everyone has different reasons to have one. No hate unless you think having one makes you some sort of superior demigod skifilm monster. Gapers can enjoy them the same as anyone because they are probably out there just trying to make something that a few people they care about will see.

happens to me all the timeeeee

and in line for the lift I do a little pop off of a nose press and shift my skis forward, kinda like a little hop type thing and sometimes my skis pop when i do it

many lulz are had.

This was me on my 3rd day ever skiing.. A perfect example of those you don't like..
It was not created to be in the ski world but to keep my family who live across the country up to date on whats going on.. Which is what a lot of the gapers are doing.. At least I would think so.
PS. I ski nothing like this anymore..

It defiantly is.. I swapped from snowboarding so I already knew the feeling of grinding etc. The hard part was jumps and quick turns.
