So a few months ago I had been diagnosed with mono and felt absolutely awful for about 9 days. The first couple days I just had a really bad sore throat and clogged nose. The next few were much worse, I was drop dead tired, couldn't eat, but worst of all couldn't sleep due to my lymph nodes being so swollen up. When I would try to sleep, no matter the position, my throat was too inflamed to breath and relax enough to fall asleep for more than a few minutes.
Eventually, I decided that taking a Benadryl to put me to sleep would help, and it did, sorta.
I took the Benadryl around 10 and went to bed. I was out cold, felt great, but at one point in the night, maybe around one, I woke up to something completely unknown to me. I didn't know what was going on. I was just confused on all fronts. I looked at my phone, looked around, I was completely awake, but everything seemed blurred and I absolutely could not figure out what I was supposed to be doing. I started to wonder where my friend cow was (hadn't seen him in at least a week/implied no homo because I was in bed) I don't remember anything else from that night but woke up in my bed the next morning feeling normal.
The next night, not knowing what happened last night but relieved to know that I'm promised some sleep, I pop another Benedryl and head to bed, out cold, once again. Around 2 am I wake up, confused as ever. I look around and don't know where I am, the bed covers were everywhere but on me. I pull my bed spread over me and start thinking its really skinney, I better re-inflate it.
I start searching for one of the inflatable mouth pieces like on one of these:
and quickly become frustrated. I just couldn't find it and I was upset, better move on. So I wandered down the hall into the bathroom, without hesitation went right to the shower, warmed it up and took a quick half hour power shower and got out. Soaking wet and in a tower, I go downstairs and made tea and started watching tv where I would remain till the morning came, completely awake.
Does anyone actually know what may have happened? Was this just caused by sleep deprivation? The rest of the nights I stopped taking Benadryl and the 'trips' stopped. If not, enjoy my cool stories.
TL;DR Benadryl=Meth
