Chads Gap callout explanation please?

I just now discovered this whole chads gap callout thing. I know what Chads Gap is, and where it is, but whats the significance of the "Callout".

There is a thread on how do you get to chads gap because these teenagers were wanting to hit it. People laughed and talked shit like you dont have what it takes to hit one of the biggest gaps out there. and the kids did it, and there is video of it too.

But I think around page 24 or so is where the call out was invented or talked about. when they said that chads gap no longer exists because ski patrol blew it up.

Please correct me if information is wrong.

The bad part is after you do the call out and the kid doesnt know about it, he just assumes your mentally challenged and doesnt engage in conversation afterwords.

And the unfortunate thing is, loads of kids are on NS who are unaware of the callout/don't know the correct answer. So it should work if someone is well-versed in newschoolers folklore, but oftentimes it's a callout that falls on oblivious newschooler ears.

exactly! Like there are times when I know they are an NSer with out question, but I fear to use it sometimes because I dont want to look like an idiot.

Prime example when I was at breck this year. I rode the gondola down with 4 guys all tall t's, FT's, and A bangs from Minnesota. But I just asked if they used NS rather than the call out. I just use the straight forward approach to save me the embarrassment.

Someday I'll get the callout, and I won't fail on the response like 93.3 (repeating of course) percent of the people I've done it to.

Only problem is I won't get the call out cause I don't wear what NS wears....I try to dress as gaper/weekend warrior as possible, like I know nothing about the ski scene...it's way more fun that way.
