FIRST OFF IDC if this is a repost....but I am going to Colorado next week and going to woodward but am also riding all mountain... i have never sharpened my edges would that be a good idea, or would i catch on rails and such?

bring your skis into your local shop and tell them you are going to ride park and you want your edges rounded...
If it's blue and shiny, it's ice. If it's white, then at some point it was snow, now it's just really really hardpacked snow. Unless it's been through a few thaw-freezes, then it's possibly ice.
Turoa represent. If you can survive Ruapehu on a crisp spring morning, you can ski anything icey.
Nothing better than that big sheet of bulletproof ice at the bottom of Big Bowl with the little lumpy bits sticking out...
