I have met the variety of people ranging from ex vietnam vets, to flower power hippy types. Do you guys have any stories from over the years?

Babes, chill dude who was going to college I dropped out of, old people who ask how hard I party and talk about getting wasted (at least 50s-60s), babe who's parents own a ski resort (not resort we were at), conservationist hiker kid who turned out to be my neighbor. Etc.

I ski a lot, so I gab with the folk.

Last season i met a kid from australia who was visiting for two weeks. We became homies and skied together for the remainder of his time on colo. He was pretty good too. good enough to hit most of the features in the park. We are still homies today.

most of the older guys i meet on the lift are cool, and a lot of them know their shit when it comes to skiing. of course there's the occasional gaper or asshole, but i just don't really pay it any mind.

Riding up with my brother and we met this fourty five year old dad. He told us how he used to drive out to Jackson hole no money and just ski for a month (from ny). Super chill and we talked about how he can't do it now because "pussy's got me by the finger.". He told us to live life while we're young and have no regrets. Best random lift dude ever

One day on the lift me and my friend had a conversation with Johhny Law's (former pro freeskier) father. Although i had never heard of him before it was great to hear all about him growing up and that he grew up skiing at my tiny home mountain! Guy was really cool.

This isn't totally related, but it is interesting to note that prison guards often separate criminals into different sections of a jail based on the crime they've committed.

Apparently, rapists get beat up and shit because other criminals think rape is fucked up.

I met a dude from the Czech Republic who had escaped from the iron curtain, spent time in refugee camps and eventually got a US visa (all this in the early 80s). He was in his mid 60s I'd guess and he and his buddy do a trip every year where they drive from home in Minnesota and do a crazy ski tour around Montana/Idaho/Wyoming.

There was also this guy that was some sort of doctor at the local hospital who was ranting and raving about how all the doctors just prescribe all sorts of drugs while their patients would probably have a better chance at being healthy if they just altered their unhealthy lifestyle choices.

i havent really met many people on the lift but i always meet chill people when i drink. College chics looking for coke, a line cook at keyston who is into LSD and longboarding, some minnesotan snowboarders hottubbing. good times
