Best humor site? Really?

Clearly there is a major mis-understanding of the internet going on over there. They didn't even include a 'community' category, which NS, TGR and EpicSki would completely obliterate everything else.

Way to go guys.

I think I visit Freeskier once a year--just to vote on skier of the year polls.

I visit NS DAILY. If there's a rumor I want confirmed, I go to NS. If there's comp standings I need, I go to NS. Sure I've grown up and see how the forums can get annoying, but if you look there's a shit ton of other tabs, articles, videos.....there's just so much more content. Since I've joined, NS has stepped up so much. God, this is annoying.

A lot of stuff on this site may be immature and stupid, but it's what makes it fun at the same time. Tons of good info on here if you look for it, NS def gets a worse rep than it deserves.

This thread is self fulfilling, this is why NS is a humor site. The news coverage is fantastic, and the video section is great, but everyone outside of freeskiing associates NS with the forums. And the forums these days are honestly a complete and total joke.

Not a big issue. If newschoolers ran awards like this, the only thing freeskier would win is generally having shitty ski reviews - I'll take humor over that any day.

i believe it. an asian kid came up to me last year in psych class at ubc and was like hey youre on newschoolers!? Im like ya man, you getting a pass to whis? he goes naww, i dont ski, a friend just showed me non-ski gabber and it's epic!!!!

Kinda just repeating what everyone else has said, but NS is so much further ahead in information in general. This is bullshit. At the same time though, why should we give a fuck about what others think about NS. We are happy with what and who we have here.

Stereotyping. The usage statistics show that the average age levels are definitely higher than that. But beyond the stupid chatter and useless bickering, this site has given me many friends that I cherish and some amazing opportunities.

It's all about what you put into it, and that's what sets NS apart from something like Freeskier. Here, it's active participation that gives reward, not just consuming a media layout.
