However... I want to really show them the power of this community. I realize that no action that we take as staff can ever even come close to the actions that we can take as a community unit. The entire philosophy about this site is based on community, and I want you to know that we're extremely committed to this going forwards. If it ain't what the community wants, then fuck it it goes.
What I would absolutely LOVE is if you guys could help us over today and tomorrow and see if we can blast our most successful month with an apocalyptic traffic spike like we've never seen before. It sounds impossible, but using the mechanics of Facebook's edgerank formula... we just might be able to do it.
If you're willing, then I need you to take a few minutes out of your day today, and your day tomorrow to help us. The task is extremely simple, but remember... you won't help us by sharing tonnes of garbage, you need to follow these instructions very carefully:
1) Search through the site, and find a forum thread, Video or news article that you love, and think that your facebook friends would love. (pictures don't work because facebook just steals them)
2) Share that in your status, but make sure to be extremely careful to title the post in a way that would be of interest to your friends.
3) Watch for your friends making these posts, and when you see them - LIKE the post, and make a comment, even if its "first" (very important)
4) In those same posts after liking and commenting, share one or two (don't spam) on your own timeline.... only if you think they're awesome.
If you all follow these rules and do it once today, and once tomorrow we just might be able to make a wave in the universe that everyone around this powerful centre will feel.
Who knows... maybe I'm crazy and I don't have the magic code... but damn this would be a cool-ass experience.
So if you're down, then please give it a shot and help NS blast our record into another galaxy!
