Columbus, OH - Kroger, Giant Eagle, and Meijer.
Bend, OR - I always hit up Safeway, although there was a cheaper one that I can't remember the name of that I did my nickel and dime shopping at.
Of course, Im sure at this stage Whole Foods/(formerly Wild Oats) and Trader Joes are national, as I have seen them in many different locations in the US. I have watched that History Channel special on grocery stores a thousand times, I feel like I remember them saying that many separate chains of Grocery store were owned by the same parent company. Food selling is a fascinating thing.
In my hometown of West Hartford, CT, there was stop and shop and a couple others that I forgot. Dan, you remember the Adam's behind Marshalls that closed like ten years ago? Good times, thats the only place we used to shop when I was little.
