First "Olympic" halfpipe comp ever this weekend

So, the first-ever Youth Olympic Games are about to start in Innsbruck, Austria, and the ski halfpipe competition is this weekend. (There's a slopestyle for the snowboarders but not for the skiers.) I suppose it will be the first "Olympic" ski halfpipe competition to go down in the history books.

Age limit is 14-18 yrs old. There are a few names I recognize on the competitors' list (Beau-James Wells, Kai Mahler, Katie Summerhayes, and my homegirl LISA GRAM representing Austria!), and a lot I don't recognize.

USA is represented by Aaron Blunck and Jeanee Crane-Mauzy
CANADA is represented by Aaron Mackay Shannon Gunning

Rooting for the good ol' USA even though I've never heard of our skiers. Hope you guys rip it up!

I was also wondering why Torin Yater-Wallace wouldn't be kicking ass for the U.S. of A. At first I thought maybe it conflicts with X Games, but that's not for another few weeks. It's the first Youth Olympic Games and maybe they're not that recognized yet, but hey, a gold medal's a gold medal. And winning this comp is probably a good stepping stone towards winning the "real" Olympics.

So what I want to know is, is this Plunck guy going to bring some heat in the pipe?

I'm almost positive the criteria for entering freeskiing in this event was you had to be born in 1995-1996.

Nothing against the event, but I imagine Torin's training. I honestly think it would be a dick move for him to come in an destroy this event- he's on a level that nobody in the comp would have even a small chance to compete with.
