shutout is a soft shell material that is only water resistant, sort of a tech hoodie. It's just a thick tech hoodie material.

On Deck is a full on insulated jacket, 10k / 10k waterproofing.

cheers so the one the deck is gona be the better one for a full proper jacket? or will the shut out do with like a thermal underneath ?

The shutout is pretty warm, i was wearing it in -22 C weather and i was fairly warm. If you wore a thermal under it i think it would be good

yes, the On Deck is more of a proper jacket, it's insulated and more waterproof, it will be warmer.

The Shutout does a really good job with mellow water resistance if you're hiking and it's snowing lightly, it's definitely warm, but the On Deck will be more so.

i have the shut out jacket. the one on top.. even tho its not a legit jacket and super water resistant.. its still super heavy duty and warm.
