Park Skiers who don't try

I've only been skiing park for two seasons so far but I've noticed there's just a certain group of people who go out and buy the nicest freeskiing gear and all they do once they get to the park is ski right past the rails and do straight airs off the jumps, not even attempting a trick, and this is all they do the whole day. Now I'm not a pro by any means, but i at least try (and fall many times in the process) to get better at park skiing. Idk why I'm ranting, what do you guys think of these people?

sounds like a pretty typical day for me. but if im on jumps under the lift i usually try a 3 so people on NS dont make threads complaining about me and wasting everyone else's time with how pointless it would be..

HAHAHHAHA i feel like a loser cause ur describing me its only my first season but I'm just learning the ropes i don't know if thats what your talking about but as of my first season in the park it does... so i don't now if i agree with you its kinda a beginner standpoint to learn the park and the "feel" of getting air..

Well I used to be decent but I progress so fast and didn't care about injuring myself. 2 years late both my shoulders will dislocate if I am not careful how I stretch . They come out every time I fall and set spins. Thus I choose safety tricks that arnt hard and choose to skip some rails jumps if they're set up sketchy

Could also be people who never had any training in park skiing, and who do not know where to start. Seems like the same people who don't see you are midair in a backflip 360 and gets you and themselves knocked out ..

wow, there are far to many kids getting butthurt about this. The kid asked a simple question and frankly I sort of agree with him. Now I love some straight grinds and straight airs just as much as the next guy but at some point it gets fucking boring and its time to try something new.

You will see me cruisin by features or straight airing in whistler next weekend thanks to a fuckin seperated rib thats not healed yet. Im only 24, but damn I dont heal as quick as I usef to. Anybody have any experience with rib armor/pads?

I honestly barely notice what other people are doing except myself and my friends. I am by no means good at all, so i don't give a shit what the 'good kids' are doing.

In my case sometimes i ski down the mountain doing glades and whatever other stuf i can find and by the time i get to the park i just feel like doing a strait air, so what if i have ar7s, i will say i aint that good at park skiing but none of my freinds are as good at all mtn as i am, then again i trully suck at park so.... What im trying to say is that people may not be park specific skiiners and they just like to fool around in the park, i dont care how nice the gear someone has, if you dont know the person you cant judge

That is pertaining to you though,
If someone is doing that all day, more power to them if they are having fun!

Park skiing has gotten so competitive which is leading to kids being hostile towards others while skiing if they aren't up to "par" it seems.
Let people ski how they want,
Let people dress how they want,
Let them have fun!
After all, enjoyment is what most (if not all) of us ski for!

I am actually really self conscious in the park, even though anyone who does anything on anything is gold in my eyes. I can do 3's and really want to perfect them but most of the time i puss out incase i fall infront of people and just do a 180 or a shifty or grab or something because i think people are judging me. So maybe those people are straight airing because they think you're judging them and will go and start a thread on some forum somewhere about how lame they were. I know it's frustrating when people walk the walk but don't talk the talk, but you need to get over it and do your own thing.

So do i... :( So thanks to everyone who writes about just having fun and fuck everyone else, i need as much of that as i can get!!

not everyone gives a shit about being the best skier out there you know. I could care less if I can't do switch 9s or whatever, long as I'm having fun doing what I'm doing that's all that matters.

So true, we're all on the same boat here and instead of ranting about these kids on the terrain park, maybe spark a conversation at the top of the run. The worst thing that happens is they look up to you and ask for a speed check or a trick tip. Gotta' remember we all started somewhere.
