Basically Mountain Dew and some other drinks like Squirt, Fanta Orange, and some Powerade and Gatorade flavors contain a flame retardant called BVO, brominated vegetable oil. The stuff has been banned in Europe and Japan, and binge drinking of drinks that have BVO in it have led to skin lesions, nerve problems, and short term memory loss. shits scary...glad I've never been a big mountain dew drinker.
