i guess for park and such, you would want as little forward lean as possible, to keep yourself upright on rails and landings. but when your racing you would probably want forward leaning boots so you can ski more aggressively, perhaps the same with charging big lines.
No. When you alot of lean in full tilts, the boots fall forward more but the skis dont lean as much. Stiffer boots are sturdier plus when you lean in them, since your not just leaning on your boots, the skis lean alot as well. If that makes sense.
There are 2 schools of thought when it comes to freestyle boots- traditional and new school. Traditional boots (Atomic Volt, FT Original, Salomon Ghost) tend to be narrower with more forward lean, skied by the likes of Jossi, Riddle, Will Wesson, Andy Parry, etc. New school boots (Overload, SPK, FT Influence) tend to be wider with less forward lean, skied by the likes of Andreas Hatveit, Elias, LJ, etc. What is better? Neither. Both work depending on someone's biomechanics needs and personal preferences.
Experiment with what feels better to you, but don't think you will be necessarily better on rails with a more upright boot.
