Traffic ticket

I got a ticket the other day on the way back from a concert. The ticket was for driving into the wrong lane, which was entirely because I drive a pretty big truck that can't safely take the tight turns that Poughkipsee, NY has to offer. I had to cross over the yellow line a bit, and first made sure there were no cars coming. But that doesn't matter. They said once I send in the "guilty" plea they will send me a fine in the mail. My question is, can I send in the payment for the fine with my "guilty" plea and have them take it? +K for actual answers, -K for hate or trolling. Thanks NSG.

sounds like you have a legit reason, why dont you fight it?
and i wouldnt send the money in with the plea because you technically dont have the fine yet.
if youre gunna plea guilty then wait for the fine.
but ive never been in that situation, this is just my 2cents

weird that there isn't a $ amount on the ticket, if there are no payment instructions then you probably can't pay early. I'd find out how much the ticket is for before pleading guilty.

oh and if he is asking you for a guilty plea then it pretty much means he doesnt have shit on you and just wants another ticket for his quota. i wouldnt.

They did give me a price, it's 150 dollars. I'm wondering if I can send it in with the plea because I drove to a show when I wasn't supposed to be driving, and I don't want my parents to know. I wasn't planning on driving, but I showed up at my friend's house and his girlfriend's car didn't work so it was either my car or not see some of my favorite hardcore bands that won't be back for a long time.

well, you could fight it, but that might require bringing your parents into it.

if you just want to pay it and make it go away, plead guilty. check the mail and get the fine, before your parents see it. usually you can pay these things online, so buy a prepaid visa and use that. the only thing left is that the insurance company will know, but that can't be helped.

worked for me haha.

haha np, mine was a ticket for going 123 km/h in a 100 zone…pretty stupid. but that happened in april, absolutely zero fallout thus far.

did your ticket say you would get any demerit points (or the US equivalent of them) ?

it did not, and they're also not suspending my license which is handy because it's already getting suspended on wednesday for a possession ticket from september.

1997 chevy silverado 2500, it's not the biggest ever but it's pretty good sized especially for the small streets in poughkipsee.

The cop isn't a douche in anyway like some pink name claimed.. You just were being lazy and didn't want to slow down for the turn (I use to drive a suburban with a way longer wheel base) soy our guilty check that box and don't resent the cop for doing his job and collecting your revenues resent the state for relying on petty violations like this for a % of their budget

I navigated a dodge 3500 megacab with dullys and a 25' toy hauler through downtown Philly to get chese steaks after a race. Try that out for size. For real though just protest it and explain, if you have a decent judge you should be fine.

just call the fuckin' court and ask a clerk how the hell is anyone on this site supposed to know? Also I hope you have a checking account because some courts don't accept cash through the mail, another thing you could ask about. Do you need help dialing?

definitely just call the court. they take certified checks from the bank and/or personal checks.

i dunno how it works up by you but when i got my ticket in white plains, they handed me the ticket in an envelope and on the envelope you can send in the guilty plea. I think you should call up the court and ask
