guess we'll get this started. Confirming a rumor from the dirt forum TC is getting a legendary ski. Blend will be 100% re-designed and Will just signed a 2 year contract.

By replacing I meant in the way of reviving the Invader or the Anthem. Obviously they are not in this years line.

2) Ever thought of doing the ''selling ski per unit'' thing ? Like selling cheap skis alone, so if you break one, you buy another one. You're the only company that I can thing of who can pull this off.

in line with other low price skis, we use extruded on lower cost skis. A Bangs are for the jibber that kicks the shit out o his skis, literally putting years of abuse on a ski in one season. in order to keep the price down, extruded is neccessary. plus if you hit rails and slide on concrete and dont was and tune, your skis will be slow. thanks!

1. how long does it take in average to make a new model ski. from planning, graphics, specs, until actually selling it.
2. how much do you invest in marketing initiatives like sponsoring. no numbers, just % wise from revenue.
3. will you get rid of any ski next year?

1. 1 to 1.5 years, there's short term and long term projects
2. standard business is like 10% of total revenue. Keep in mind we only make skis, poles and sme softgoods hence and not race, cross country, snowshoes, snowboards ect to supplement a freeskiing budget like a lot of other brands
3. yes. if you see how our product line is laid out you can speculate on which one.

anything possible, you just need a crew, interest and the sport to be pushed. look at how crazy scootering is ha! Look at a Skiboard from 1995 and a ski from 1995, now look at skis now and compare to the skis and skiboard, which looks more similar? (deep thoughts right there)

LJ was riding an all white topsheet ski at PC this weekend, and I heard he 2 more protos he's testing out....I heard something about a Chronic redo, or were they the above mentioned new park ski?

Since K2 owns Line, are your big mountain/pow skis produced in the same factory as theirs with the same quality of construction?

I know that K2 has insane durability, and if a pair of this year's SFBs was on par with the construction of K2 I'd probably be sold.

I see no reason to doubt the SFB's durability. Keep in mind it is made using different materials, then the OBsethed, (core, base, edge, glass, etc...)
Quality is great though.

we sources some of the same materials but have completely different engineers (they dont share secrets). They come out of the same factory yes but the development process is much different, like shockingly different. Both brands have super smart guys on the job so quality/construction shouldn't be a concern. SFBs rule btw.

I don't really have anything to ask, but good work on doing this thread...takes some commitment to follow up for sure. I've always thought Line as being ahead of the curve, the original 1260s were waaayy ahead. Keep on doing it!

Oh, I guess one question. How much is Jay Lev involved with day to day and like R&D nowadays?

just 3 guys with an assortment of cameras, in a van. as big as it's gotten we're happy it hasn't deviated from its roots in to some over edited, contrived 'edit' rather it documents a certain skiing lifestyle.
