got new boots fitted yesterday and the shop put in some foot bed to straighten my knees up, they have a lump with the arc to support it, have never had this before is it usual that this will hurt for a while till my feet adjust.
Yes. Your foot is a super flexible structure and it has had little to no support for a long time and got used to a certain shape. Now, you have proper support under your feet for the first time so you need to adjust to the new structure. Wear them around for a couple of hours (max) at a time and ease into getting used to them. The tissue on the bottom of your feet, your ankles, your knees, your ligaments are literally being realigned and will take some time to adjust to this.
These are good things for your feet and will do wonders for your alignment and life of your joints- you're just not used to them yet. Start off slowly and things will be super comfortable once you adjust to them.
cheers i thought this may be the case but wanted to check, how long do you recon it may take to get used to it, im 16 and not stoped growing if that means anything
It has more to do with how tight/inflexible your feet are, which you won't know. It could take a few days, it could take a few weeks. Most of the time, it won't take long but it's best to ease into it and gradually build up the time on them depending how comfortable it is. Just don't force it, let your feet tell you how much is good.
