i had salomon bindings this season and i absolutly hated them i came out of em to many times when i shouldnt have , the only salomon binding that it worth getting is the s 16 and that would be just as heavey o heaveir than the line binding. another thing is the toe piece on the line binding doesnt have the extra shit that the salomon bindings do wich makes way better swing weight for spinning quickely onto rails and doin switch ups. line binding all the way

i have S810Ti bindings last winter and i hate them too, i'm not heavy and my DIN was at 8 and and sometimes i lost my skis on landing a rail and they are all plastik and very cheap

go with the salomon bindings the new line ones are way to heavy and dont allow for unlocking when you fall as much as other bindings do

^ how do you figure that? the line binding is selling itself on the fact that it releases when you need it too and it has more release potential for different kinds of falls

Line is heavy, but when looking at the release system, I would rather go heavy and better for the knees than lighter, and worse on the knees. The release system also doesn't require a huge DIN for you to stay in. Line is where its at, and will only get better!

I have the rossi axium bindings, and they havent failed me yet, i release whenever i should, and i cant think of a time they released when they shouldnt have. But my friend has salomons and he hasnt had any problems either. I would go with the salomons, not because i dislike line, i would just want to wait for other people to test em out so you cna get some better feedback.

All of you bitching about Salomon's releasing wrong just need to get someone who knows what they are doing to adjust them. Salomon's are the most adjustable binding out there and they work great.

Hevy is a good thing it means that the company used good materials to mke the bunding suck ad metal over plastic . meaning they wont break as easy . i was wonce told by a tech that a solid hevy binding is alot stronger and less aceptible to breaking meaning better quality .. look at the look bindings they are awsme and super hevey but still kick ass .

also, how heavy could line's be i mean the toe piece is the smallest i have ever seen, the plate doesnt look that thick, and teh back plate is a huge dildo... besides the point isnt to make a lightweight binding, its to make a durable, interchangable binding that saves you from tearing your ACL...

what are you talking about? look isnt a heavy binding at all.
i dont know about the Line binding, but i agree that you should hold off on it for a little bit just to get more feedback. Line will get better and better as time goes on.
and as for the Salomon bindings, i hate them, they release alot(sure you may have to adjust them every different way for them to be good, adjusting them should be really easy like the rossi or look), and break all the time, they have really poor durability

rossignol and look are good binding as I know
but I've hear a lot of people complain about the salomon too maybie I would go for line between the 2 to try something that has not been badly qualified

The rossi/look setup is by far the best for jibbing. The heel piece has 25mm of vertical travel before it releases, which in turn means that you get less prerelease then any other binding. its a light setup, and can be mounted with no lifter which is better for park riding anyway.

i Have ridden them all including the new 05 line reactor binding and Look/Rossi is still #1 for feel release contact points consistancy of release and durability.
I have physically ridden tested all bindings and function tested and thats my feeling

yea I also wanted to know about the line bindings because I recently bought chronics and I'm planning on only having one pair of line skis. So is their really a point of going with the line bindings, paying alot extra or should I just go with a pair of look jib bindings, which one of my friends suggested.

thank you telestar. salomon bindings work amazingly well when they are set right, but everyone tries to crank their din and messes them up. i had mine set correctly, adjusted for my boots toe height and wing adjustment, and i rose a 7 din all season with no problems at all. this includes a big air and a skiercross with no prereleases at all

man the line bindings are way too inovative for skiing...NOT!!!!! why the fuck didnt anyone think about this before. i mean its on fucking snowboard bindings. interchangable bindings. like wtf. where have ski companies been in the past twenty years stuck under a fucking rock? its sucha good idea but we will just have to wait for it to be perfected., right now get the salomon bindings.

GO LINE
the 05 version is the re-release of this binding. it is good to go. the interchange-ability is worth it alone. then you add the fact that its the safest binding out there, durable and BY DESIGN will not pre-release because the harder you push it, the harder you are putting yourself into the binding. (read the info on line;s web site for an explanation)
truley a big step for skiers to not have to pay the extra 30 dollars for mounting everytime you switch skis / bindings / boots

get whatever is good rossi or salomon or line, all good but never ever buy markers! Those are the worst bindings out there. I was doing a huge safety 180 and as i came down on them the brake just snapped off and my face slammed into the hard icy snow and the fuckin ski without the binding break went barrelin down at at least 30 and almost hit at least 4 people, fuck whatever you do, do not get marker bindings
and more, much more than this, I did it my way

i dono why everyone thinks that interchangeable bindings are something new, just buy a set of heelecoils and mount your skis with them, bam instant binding change system!

i had marker bindings that i warrantied twice before they finally failed the third time, and yeh the metal on the heelpiece broke and the brake broke and so you can move the heelpiece has like half an inch of play in it and it's just not a good idea to buy markers.

ok, the one thing people mistakenly say is that the look/rossi bindings function like the line. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! while they do have a turntable, it just alignes the pivot of a releasing boot further forward, and in line with your leg. while this is a much safer alternative to standard bindings, it is not at all similar to the line binding. it is a great jib binding and i have only had one time where the ski didnt release when it should havem out of 4 straight years on LOOK bindings. Again, the tecnology of the line binding is much better than anything out, its a great idea. if you are at all concerned about knee injuries, i would suggest it, but i myself am a little worried about the weight and hight, but i have yet to the see the new version.

If you have Line skis I would defintly look for the Reactor binding. If you dont have line skis, Im sure it works, but having to put a riser defintly discourages me from buying them.

salomon is a good proven binding, but the line binding is worth it if it's all improved now. I mean it WILL be safer in your knees, it looks sick, and why not support a ski only company.

yet again i skipped over most of the posts, cause i'm f'ing tired...... anyway, i've had the old demo line bindings for two years and i've ridden em hard. they're a bit heavy, yes. get over it. they're the most reliable bindings that i've ever ridden, ever. (as long as you get the snow off of your boots.... if not, the heel likes to pop out.) The weight is under your foot though, and acutally makes the ski more stable for you. I really like them, and if I had the $$$ I'd get another pair. And you can quickmount. So, buy a beater pair of skis, and just swap skis for different days/sessions!
That's $0.02 from someone who's been riding them since the debut.

I rode them at the Copper Demo about two years ago. I didnt even notice them, so that was a good thing. I did note thay they did seem a little heavy back then. I didnt even notice the 'quality issue' with them. But over the last two years Line has made some tweaks to um and lightened them up a ton and waited to it was perfect to get them out now.
