Debating between a career in the medical marijuana industry, or a career in construction. Medical marijuana is recession proof, but uncertain due to rapidly changing laws. Construction has many fields, and is a notably secure field. Cannabis is an undeniable passion.
Uh medical marijuana is still a felony and will be a felony for a very long time. States may make it legal but the federal government won't for a very long time
construction. US federal government is cracking down on medical marijuana, and the future of it isn't really that secure. Construction's not going anywhere.
also you could do both. But legally that's a bit iffy
I worked at a dispensary last year it was literally amazing now i help out in an indoor medical grow with them... best job ever i can honestly see myself doing this the rest of my life (and probably will be able too if laws go in my favor in the next 5 to 10 years) i work with pharmacists and medical doctors, along side agricultural geniuses and i make quite a substantial salary even though i'm 19 and still in college. I have never worked in construction but i don't think after working where i do i could ever work anything other than this. i learn business, medicine and farming, 3 of the most recession proof things there are.
absolutely not! It helps dude are you kidding, Noted when i go to find a career or my next job (i'll probably still have this job when i graduate however) but i wont put I helped grow weed for this place that sells weed i'll put worked for a company that distributes and grows flowering plants and plant related goods. I learned advanced hydroponics and in ground agricultural techniques acquired intermediate business sales knowledge and if i were applying for a physician or nursing job ( i won't, not my degree) i'd put worked in the distrobution of pharmecuticals, and not to mention the literally 10 recs i'd get two doctors, one pharmacist, a wealthy businessman, 2 more business operators, and 4 farmers. dude if you have a choice between construction and marijuana sales.... its kinda obvious
Kind of depends on what kind of construction you are wanting to get into. I've been doing concrete for a commercial builder for the last 6 years and I gotta say its rough man. You grow some thick skin in a hurry or you don't last. I'm suprised that you would even consider this comparison. I got laid off a few months ago because the economy is in the shitter and no private companies are building shit right now. The company I worked for couldn't hire people fast enough when I started in 2005, they were paying above scale and all this nonsense just to get people to come work for them, then pretty rapidly it scaled back and back and back to the point where they were pretty much on life support doing nothing but public works jobs (transfer stations, prisons, schools, etc) when my last 2 year project ended they kicked me to the curb with no apologies so I said fuck this shit, now I'm flipping foreclosure homes. But this too will dry up as the market corrects and then what? Who knows. Maybe I'll grow weed and make 10k a month sitting on my ass all day. That actually sounds like a decent idea.
