I wear gang affiliated clothing at the ski mountain because i know that is were there is the least chance that i will encounter an african american. If in fact i do encounter an african american i am much more confident that i coud win in a ski battle with an african american as opposed to anywhere else where the african American obviously holds the upper hand.

This excludes anything to do with water

Fuck no I'm upper 3%, but that doesn't mean i get what i want i have had to buy everything and earn my money. Ya i listen to biggie, ya i like rap, i also like rock and i listen to a lot more rock then rap, and ya i get high and listen to classical music...

This is the bottom line: This whole thread/argument really has very little to do with skiing, and much more to do with age, maturity, and adulation.

 The reason that this seems like "more" of a ski issue as opposed to boarding is because there's more of a diversity in what's considered "cool" or trendy in snowboarding. Snowboarding has a longer history/more direct connection to other sports and cultures (when compared to park skiing obviously, not skiing in general) so there's just more people with different approaches for young snowboarder kids to emulate. There's also dozens of small/independent outerwear and board companies that all put forth different styles and vibes. For example, Holden and Airblaster sort of target one group of riders, whereas Technine covets a very different one.

Up until very recently, there was really only one "style" that newschool kids had to look to for inspiration, and that was obviously the whole tall/baggy/snow gangster style. If you look at the freeski brands that have popped up, the overwhelming majority of them have stuck to what's been working for the last ten years or so: bright, loud, and baggy. Companies like the Surface fam are obviously pushing towards something a bit different, and I feel like in another few years, this uniformity, or conformity that seems so rampant in skiing will ease up and people will be more true to themselves.

 Also, in my estimation, the kids I see in the park on skis tend to be a bit on the younger side when compared to boarders. Obviously that's not true across the board or anything, but generally speaking, it's not unusual to see a dude hitting rails on a board who is in his late 20's and even 30's...don't see as many skiers that age doing the same.

So, while I enjoy getting a chuckle out of some of these kids sliding around in costumes, styles that they don't even come close to rocking off of the hill, I think it's sort of important for us older guys to be a bit more gracious and understanding of what it's like to idolize someone or something. I know I for one have worn and done some stupid shit in the name of trying to emulate others. But, as is the case for 99% of people, I grew up and came to understand the person I actually am instead of trying to force something else.

By all means, let us have a bit of fun at other's expense, but not so much that we forget what it was like to do pretty much the same things.

The ski industry needs to stop making this bullshit 80's inspired neon clown suits. Shit is redic, I don't wear a clown suit when I'm not skiing why the hell would I wear one when i do? It seems like a large handful of snowboard companies have grasped this concept but in skiing...causwell is getting close but really who else??? Who will realize this and capitalize???!?! FOR GODS SAKE SOMEBODY MAKE SOME OUTERWEAR THAT DOESN'T MAKE US ALL LOOK STUPID TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD!!

holy shit that is gross, haha. lots of ski companies have some nice models, like orage, oakley, siver had some cool stuff (RIP) but most capitalize on big baggy skittle shit (cough Saga LDC cough) but thats fine, because they're successful selling to kids who like that sort of thing...

I find this thread interesting since I am 13 and I wear tall tees and baggy snowpants and wear neon colors but for some reason I don't think I am a gangster and I just like how tall tees look when you are skiing and how they feel. I feel like I can move more freely and I also have a 10 year old brother that snowboards he skiied until he fell on a 360 then he decided to snowboard and now he hates on skiing all the time but when he straps in I just get some snow down his back and he learns to be quiet. O yea and that video was actually funny and how can that snowboarder think that skiiers look like ballerinas when we do switch ups on boxes because ballerinas don't wear tall tees but whatever haters gunna hate and i don't know why snowboarders hate so much on skiing cuz skiiers don't sit and hate on snowboarding

I think that's a pretty sweet video actually and Idc if it's making fun of skiing or tall tees and Idc if people are making fun of 13 year olds wearing tall tee's and thinking they are gangsters yea I'm 13 and I wear tall tee's but I don't act like a gangster but it is true some skiiers go run there mouths way too much and it get's annoying and I don't think that's cool and I agree with some of the hate because there is people on NS that probably go around acting like they are way better then everyone to me it seems the ones that are extremely good at skiing help other people and don't talk themselves up because everyone knows they are good and then there is skiiers who are pretty good but there is a couple people better then them and them are the ones that go around cocking off and talking themselves up and that's not cool and like the snowboarders at my school they all sit and argue over whos better and talk about how good they are but my 10 year old brother is better then them It's not cool when you have to talk about how good you are it's cool when other people talk about how good you are because you won't go bragging to everyone and you are actually good.

I am 18 and last year when I was opening a new bank account the woman asked if i wanted to enable online banking, when I asked why she said "so you know your money is being used legitly, like, no one's stealing it you know?"
