Who thinks Tanner Hall can win the 2014 Halfpipe Olympics? Why?

No skier has endured the injury and comeback like Tanner.
His determination is 2nd to none. He has the style, amplitude, and focus to Win!

I do mostly just because he's t-hall and who am I to doubt him? The only thing holding him back in recent years was injuries.

I think if anyone can come back from injuries of that magnitude, it is Tanner. From what I hear, he is still experiencing pain even with the prolotherapy treatments. It will be a serious challenge as he hasn't competed in pipe since 2009, and the level has progressed significantly. Also, I don't think he is planning on competing until 2012/13 which gives him 1 full winter, 1 summer and the first half of 2013/14 to prep for Olympics.

Doesn't mean it will be easy or that he will pull it off, but I hope to see him there in 2014 competing.

hes got the will and the time to pull it off- the french are gonna be hard to beat however,


I really want Tanner and Simon to do well, I think they are the OG pipe skiers and deserve to kill it in the first olympic event- plus AMERICA

I have been filming these tramp edits with tanner from the beginning of september i believe... He started off slowly just learning how to get the skill back and all of a sudden BOOM, here he is learning triples and doing triple sets. Hanging out wit him you realize he is the most motivated strong willed person. If anyone can make a come back and win it is Tanner. BIG UPS TO T, keep slaying it homie

name one thing tanner set his sights on that he didn't accomplish.

if anyone can come back to win it it will be t hall.

say what you want about him but no one can deny that he is one of the hardest working skiers in the game today. he will let nothing get in the way of his domination of the next phase of the branch of skiing he has figureheaded for a decade or more.

he's even going to mexico to get sucrose injections to help with his healing. does anyone know someone else so focused enough on re-emerging as the best in the world that they will get mexican injections?

Is it possible? Absolutely. Will it happen? That is tough to say. The Olympics is still 2 years out, Torin will only be getting better, Rolland is on another level, Dorey is always a contender and Wise will continue to improve.

That being said, Tanner is definitely a contender for the Gold in Sochi. It seems a lot of people don't really understand just how hard the guy works and how dedicated he is to the sport. Sure, he has tremendous natural talent and based on some of his past choices he may not seem like a dedicated athlete, but he may be the most dedicated in the sport. The guy has a tattoo that lists his major injuries and essentially says that they were all worth it because of what he has been able to accomplish in skiing. It will be interesting to see how many people jump on the bandwagon considering how many on NS and in the skiing community essentially declared that he would never be relevant in the competition scene again after his last major injury.

DON'T bet against Tanner.

a thing to consider: before even making it to the olympics, he has to make it on to the current team that has dumont, torin, gus, n wise on it. Even though we know he's got the skill, the key thing is to improve faster then them, plus make up for lost time. And that even before getting on the olympic stage. From there he's got to beat out the french and the canadians, which are also constantly getting better super fast.
I think he can make it, but its going to be really difficult. And it anyone can do it, its tanner.

It's scary how determined Tanner is. If he can win the X Games less than a year after breaking both his heels and ankles, he could do this if he sets his mind to it. He's been doing crazy stuff on tramps lately too. I truly believe he can win if he keeps up his hard work. I sure hope he wins. But, I thought that he didn't make the US halfpipe team?

As evan raps said in a ski movie long ago (Happy Dayz?) Tanner Hall is the white chocolate.... Tanner is freeskiing. He will come back harder than ever, that said I'm not positive he can take home gold with rolland, torin, dorey all coming at him hard- look at how dumont (who still finishes really high up) has fared. Not nearly the 1,2 Tanner and Dumont struggle anymore so I'm not 100% Tanner can still rule pipe skiing. It'll be fun to watch though, I'd love to see Tanner ride away with gold, that would solidify him as the greatest competition skier freeskiing has ever seen, as if he's not already.

Not true actually...

You qualify for the olympics through the world cup events. So yes he will have to make the qualification series, but no he will not have to get onto the team first necessarily.

i think t-hall can do it. He's crazy determined, and if these tramp edits say anything....
theres some video of him on water ramps recently too and he's doing some pretty crazy stuff considering where he was in the recovery process at the time.
