Cannabis Conundrum

So i am facing the issue of being kicked out of my parents house if i continue my lifestyle. anyone have situations like this when they were growing up? Should i quit completely, or just tone it down and be stealthy?

But seriously, this summer 3 of my friend's parents sent them to rehab for weed. Yes, they had tried harder drugs, but their parents only did it because they were skipping class and shit, they weren't coming home on weekends, shit like that. And they smoked weed every day. So what you have to consider is whether or not weed is making you lkive this lifestyle, or is weed a just a part of a shitty lifestyle you are living. For some people weed is the root of their problem, but I get tired of people blaming everything on weed when it's really only a small part of a shitty lifestyle that they choose to live.

Your a senior and you have like what 1 semester and a half to go. If i where you i would stop completely until i was outta highschool. Maybe after you quit for a while you will realize you dont really wanna do it anymore. for a lot of kids/users they're caught by the authorities, even if it's simple possession, and have to go to court. and in a lot of these cases, it's community service, cell time, or "rehab." since laying off the good old ganja isn't a serious challenge for anyone, "rehab" is the easiest option. its the legal system making a joke of itself.

cant believe i bothered to read half the posts on this thread... some ns'ers just confirmed how dumb they are. or maybe theyre great trolls. who cares

Have you ever heard of the study done on rhesus monkeys by Slikker in 1992? the monkeys were exposed to the equivalent of 4-5 joints per day through face-mask inhalation for an entire year, seven months later there was no observed change in hippocampal structure, cell size, cell number, or synaptic configuration. As a result of these studies, Morgan and Zimmer concluded that the claim that marijuana causes physiological damage to brain cells is incorrect.

inferring that it means they observed no changes in how the brain cells interacted (for lack of a better term). that there was no change in the firing of synapses in the brain?

Your living under your parents roof, your in fucking high school, they pay for your food, clothes, school, supplies, etc.

They don't want you smoking weed or having it in the house - man the fuck up and just stop being such a idiot about it. Its not hard to conceal the fact you smoke pot, and if your super "for" it then respect your parents regardless.

grow up dude, and this is coming from a kid who smokes weed alot, and regardless of what you think pot is - good or bad, when you live under their roof, its their rules.

Dude come on what principled adult is going to take a teenage pot smokers political opinions about drug control serriously. And on top of that don't you think that's the kind of conversation you have with them before your branded a stoner and threatened with being kicked out. I think it's hard to sway hearts and minds when you are already in trouble for what your trying to educate them about. I feel like any parent who would drop their principles and be like "hey my kid watch the union. I should listen to his perspective about drugs" is the definition of unprincipled and spineless even if they are open minded. You don't just cave to a teenagers opinions used in his own defense unless you never really wanted to enforce the rule in the first place. Not to mention for many parents it's not about weed per say but about getting fucked up or partying at all in their house or under their guardianship

okay, you really bother me in these threads. For some reason you always post in these threads when you have NEVER TAKEN A HIT OF MARIJUANA. YOU HAVE NEVER SMOKED WEED. What makes you think that you know anything other than .gov websites and what D.A.R.E taught you in 3rd grade. The kind of principled adult that has an open mind, respects their kid,s and isn't going to kick them to the street for one of the least dangerous drugs you could possibly possess/ingest. I feel bad for your future children. You have a very closed mind.

You want to know why I'm not labeled as a rebellious stoner by my parents? Because THEY'RE respectful of me, and I'm respectful of them. They have TRUST in me. I did what the fuck I wanted and they knew I was smart enough to stay out of trouble. Respect is not a one way path, it goes both ways. You should respect your parents opinions just as much as they respect yours, which is why both should be open to being able to sit down with each other and have a logical discussion about each other's feelings on a given issue. My parents did an amazing job of raising me, so thanks for calling them unprincipled and spineless because they were willing to listen to me. I'm so fucking glad I wasn't raised in a religious family.

lol smoking weed doesn't tell you shit about what weed does to your brain. just the immediate physical and mental side effects. government studies help hella about or knowledge of weed. but you gotta be careful about which studies you quote. some of em are funded by potheads (results skewed for weed) and some of em by crazy right wingers (against weed). and sometimes either party can be honest, once and a while. but seriously guys. there is a serious lack of agreement among the scientific community, with evidence for and against pot. it's an argument which (at this point) is based on opinion, not fact.

tl;dr stop arguing your silly argument till scientists agree.

also, OP was asking whether he should leave or quit. quit bro. best choice by far.
