an idea for the head skis with the chip...

alright, head makes some skis and snowboards that have this special conductive fiber in them. when the ski vibrates (ie going fast) it stiffens up the flex. why the hell isnt this in a park ski? yeah, it might be a tad expensive, but think about it. you could have a nice soft ski for butters and manuals, but when you were landing jumps or going fast, it would stiffen up quite a bit. how sweet would that be?

yeah, it would be a little pricer, and there are plenty of rich fucks who would buy them! they could always make a version without the chip, just the fiber, and then one without either.

wouldnt it not be able to tell cause ur in the air and you need it for landing, so in the air the ski just bounces and does its own thing

stiffe up for landings? are you kidding me? hahahahahahah, stiff skis suck for landings, ever hear of a thing called shin bang? you need softer ski to absorb the landing, if not you'll bit an edge too easy or go flying

the chip junk dusn't do much at all, trust me.
I get head skis for wholesale so i have 3 pairs of them (i used to race(dont hate me); 1 pair of JoJos and 2 of the race skis with chips, and they all feel the same.

its just heads gimmick for old men who like groomers. it was originally on heads tennis raquets then they said 'hey lets throw 'em on our skis and our sales will do better.' the chip is supposed to absorb energy in motion form then the chip transfers it into elctrical energy heats up the ski/raquet carbon special material stuff and makes it stiffer. lets just say it looked good on paper.

you get shin bang from landing in the backseat...
I have talked with head about getting the intellegence chip in the park ski, but they said it was pretty expensive. It works so well in the Monster, it would only make sense to have it in a park and pipe ski...especially pipe...

What it does: fibers laid out in a 45 degree 'X' angle under the topsheet create friction when the ski bends and tortionally twists...This friction is sent as electrodes that fire back to a microchip that resends a pulse to stiffen the fibers in about 1/10 of a second. It is incredibly responsive, but expensive (monsters with the chip $1000)
I believe that it would work well, maybe on more models in the future...

the chip in the head intelligence is a fucking joke man. it's pure marketing. most people will walk in that store and ask if we carry the line of Head skis with the chip. when we tell them no, they IMMIDIATLY walk away, in search of that 'oh so perfect ski'. look at it this way. never has a head intelligence ski outskied an Volkl or Atomic ski in the all-moutain aggressive carver. it makes you think it will react but you won't see any difference then on a high-end ski. The reason is that most companies are now pushing the core limits. Volkl with it's G3 is a sick ski for carving, because it's core is super stiff in torsion. on the other hand, it's great for park and for bumps because it's flex is surprisingly soft. the Head skis are just designed the same way (never as good as Volkl though) and so the ski will perform well in all of the mounta0in's terrain. For that extra cash that will make you think you're a better skier, just go with a higher end Volkl or Atomic for carvers and I guaranty you'll have a sicker deal. as for puting a chip in a park ski, think of shit. how many pair of twins break every year. now put a chip in the core of the ski. Won't last a season, unless the guy rides them more, alot more, on the goomers then on park terrain.

you may think its a fucking joke, but thats because you are miseducated in how the system works, let alone even skied on the ski...You can be all hopped up on volkl...go for it...im just trying to state a FACT that has been researched for several years before they put it into retail. It may seem like a gimmick to you but try testing the ski with a chip in one and no chip in the other...i did and there is a massive difference. groomed or off piste it stabilizes the fuck out of the ski better than any other system i have tried. Plus Head skis are wood core, and built bombproof. (like a volkl) So stop slinging untrue rumors just to sell something your stoked on.
