A quick word on blocking ads

I log (used to log) on NS on a daily basis. I would do two things: post videos and, most importantly, watch videos.
With the advent of the new video format, I stopped doing the latter. I'll skip over the fact that it lags terribly and screws my internet most times I click to watch an edit. I guess that's my own problem.
But why is it sub-dividing videos into so many categories? When I want to watch the top rated edits (which is most of the time since I can't spend hours here), I want to watch the top rated edits. Not the best site-friendly edits, not the videos+embedded of the week.
Is this a permanent format or is it going to come back to a more user-friendly, less time consuming one? Am I the only lazy guy who's bothere by having to filter edits all the time?
