So for the upcoming season at dagmar, the owners are looking at giving the park a bit of a facelift, they are looking for some suggestions for the park. so the main thing is what would you like to see happen with the park at dagmar this year? For example how the park is set up, and new features you would like to see this season? just post suggestions here and all suggestions will be taken in to consideration.

i know people are excited, so am i. Anyone can use common sense to  see that the weather is crap and is why they aren't opening. obviously they will open asap but they don't even know becasue of the weather.

All that snow that was getting blown in that video is almost all gone because of the rain. so it will be some time. and sorry i dont have an exact date

Dagmar is pumping snow! they brought out old guns just to make more and quicker!

Some updates for the park set up as an initial setup. we're hoping and planning to do park buils every 1-2 weeks so it will be continually changing!!

The plan is that Wednesday is the opening day for the season. So that means that it will be open for the rest of the week and weekend as well. All weather dependent. Now as for hours, I am unsure yet, just keep looking on the Facebook page or the Website. It might just be night time for Wednesday Thursday and Friday but the day might open up. I just haven't heard anything more than that

Lakeridge's projected opening date is December 22nd, which is a Thursday. Our plan is just to stockpile our snow, and have a killer park on opening day rather than rush to get open rather than Dagmar. From and economical standpoint, trying to open this early with the projected warm weather is stupid. Yes, I want to ski, so I'm skipping a day of school and driving up to Horseshoe instead.

Why are you so bitter towards dag? I've worked at the mar for 4 years now and I love the place to death but I'll be the first guy to admit that proposing a wednesday opening date was insensible. But they were pushing for it because they know that everybody is itching to ride and to get the season going. It was definitely a gamble, and one that didn't work out, but the gamble was for us.

This thread is not supposed to be a competition between resorts, and we get it man you are in support of lakeridge and seem to enjoy putting dagmar down whenever you have the chance. I may be loyal to dagmar but I definitely think Lakeridge is gonna be mad ill this year and no doubt Burke will do a fantastic job with the park, ill definitely come out and check it out a few times this year!

Ontario's skiing community is way to large and passionate for the climate Ontario has, but thats not a bad thing. Unfortunately we all have to deal with the weather and understandably people are going to be a bit edgy and grumpy when there is double digit temps in the forecast for the middle of december.

Nevertheless, lets all take it easy and realize that we are all going to be skiing in the next couple weeks somewhere and it's going to be amazing to get back out there, I don't know about you guys but I've been waiting for this since closing day in march.

Had to get that off my chest.

Hope everyone has a great winter, hope to see some of you guys out there!

the weather had nothing to do with them pushing back the opening, the amount of snow we have is fine. it was the owners call and she said that she didnt think enough people would show.

I totally understand that. And I totally acknowledge the thata I am very bitter towards Dag, but I have some reasoning.

1- I am as pissed about the weather as anyone else. That really doesn't help my overall mood.

2-This is the actual reason why. When I moved here almost exactly a year ago, I hopped into skiing in the area for the first time in January. I had never rode a park before, when I lived in the I learned how to ride on a bunch of homemade rails. I was beyond stoked to ride a real park for the first time in my life, so I got a ride with my gramps up to Dagmar. I mean, I was the new kid on the block, didn't know anyone, so I was just kind of friendly to everyone, but every single person was an absolute asshole to me. It really ruined my whole feeling to ride. Not only that, I got a pair of poles stolen my first night, they were my lucky ones that I had had for three years prior (cheesy, don't even say it) and that really pissed me off. The combination of that, and the whole "I'm better than you.", "You suck." attitude that seems to posess every god damned soul there ruined it for me.

I just started skiing at Lakeridge instead, and everyone was so much more nice. It was amazing to me.

I really have nothing against the park (other than a few flaws that I really dislike, but hey, everywhere has some) other than the fact that no one is inviting there. They weren't welcome.

But basically, disregard most of the shit I say, I'm a flaming asshole.
