Sorry, the key here is that MyMedia is not a gallery, it is the place to manage your media and publish it where youchoose. If you want to see a photo and its metadata, there is a little "I" that comes up in the top left corner.
I know that this seems confusing, but remember that since there are now so many places to publish media on newschoolers, it is a touch more of a complicated interface.
We will be writing up a how-to guide for MyMedia at some point next week I believe. For now, you can always add photos directly to any gallery.
For instance, lets say you wanted to add something to the "misc" category.
Go here:
https://newschoolers.com/photos/10.0/Misc
Click "Upload"
Select as much media as you want. I think there's a maximum number of items, but it should be 100 or so.
Click "Open"
Then, the system will begin uploading your media.
As each media item finishes, it will come up under "Tag Your Media" and be red.
Red means that this media is untagged, and you need to add information to it.
Add metadata to every item you upload.
MOST IMPORTANTLY - In order to set a picture to public, you HAVE to choose a category. When you choose a category, this media item will be made public within that category.
Private items are NEVER set to a category, they are just private. You can view anything private directly in MyMedia by clicking the "I" icon that comes up at the top.
We realize this is a touch confusing, and we're adding some tweaks to the interface to make it a bit easier to use. However, once you get the hang of it, you'll see that these are much more powerful media management tools.
