Joining Air Force?

I'm really considering joining the Air National Guard. A lot of factors are going into it, and I'm pretty sure once I graduate college in a year I'm going in as an officer. Anyone have any advice/family in the guard? Anyone here in the Air Force? I know a few members are, and I've talked to some. I want to fly for a living, and I feel that going in reserves is great because if i decide I like commercial better, the reserves is part time, and if i like the military, I can make it full time. Advice/Thoughts?

ya, i think about the benefits though from being in the military. we get our house paid for, medical, dental, internet/tv and shipping one car anywhere we want. its quite a perk.

if i went for being a pilot i would want to be a helo pilot. but its so hard, my friend has tried 5 times.

*** i say, ( my friend/buddy alot) i live on a military base in germany. i know so many guys that go down range for every type of stuff you can think of.

And yea, helo is cool, but I love flying airplanes. Like LOVE it. I want to fly for a living. If I wanted to fly helo, I would go marines, because they have a good helo program, and after talking to the recruiter, right now there is a need from my local, and it was almost guaranteed i'd get the spot, but, I would only fly for like half of my time, then the second half of my commitment would be ground work and desk job...no fun haha
