DeebieSkeebiesyeah took me a minute. For reference I was riding 184 new life's in the prior seasons which is an interesting but fun ski.
In other news, Snowbird is officially the first ski area in the country to open and close down due to a bleak forecast.
Of all places.....fucking snowbird. There are trash landfills in the metro Detroit area right now that are kicking along. My home hill has been open for the past 2 weeks.

.lenconIdk, maybe the YLE was the ski for me. Considering picking up a pair of 187s, but that would be a lot of ski for a 135 pound, 5'8" kid. Maybe I should try to get bigger, but I enjoy running/biking/eating healthy along with lifting.
And yeah, just 2 hours north of Snowbird and all the snow has melted and I'm back on my mountain bike, go 2 hours north of here and you're shredding pow in the Tetons tho.

snowbird didnt open till the 26th last year and alta waited till the following weekend. Its snowing a bit this week, and consistently cold. We'll be skiing by thursday again no fuckin doubt.
This november is going to be quickly forgotten in april when our bodies are brittle and weak from skiing so much fucking powwww.
it is alarming to say the least. But utah has had years skiing was here till like january. Alta didnt open till like jan in the late seventies once. and the year of the games we had to truck snow in, so idk what else to say.

.lenconI mean, according to all the winter prediction maps, it looks like Utah might have a bad year. Or below average at least. Not sure where I am.. think it's gonna be close. Tetons/Montana should be great though, along with northern PNW resorts.
DaphDefinitely got warm here the past few days and melted a lot but we still have a decent base and more terrain open than I've ever seen opening week. The tram is open, liberty bowl and big couloir. And the warm is supposed to quit tomorrow with some snow in the forecast. Sucks about snowbird

RyhanEverybody talks about how careful you should be at Jackson hole in cliff terrain and around tree wells, but my first huge slam of the year was from a goddamn cat track in flat light. Absolutely fucked my shit up but somehow didn't injure anything significant. I have lots of things to get used to.

.FryBrought my on3p filthy riches to get mounted with my pivots. Shop said they might not be able to center them the way I desired because the new holes would be too close to the old ones, so they might be mounted back a centimeter. I hope this doesn't make a noticable difference, they're a symmetrical ski.

SendyMcSendyfaceShitt man, where are you? Honestly, imho I never buy anything used that I haven't seen and tested. Cars, bikes, skis, electronics, model plane parts, whatever, unless its from someone you know and trust. Better to order a new bike and pay big money up front, than to buy what turns out to be a shitty used bike and have to spend even more money to get it working.

Earlier yesterday AM, i was just browsing some job openings at my old place of work and saw an opening for a position at one of the lodges, considered it, then got sidetracked and focused on something else.
Fast forward to last night, I get texts from my old manager who just so happens to be the head of the front desk stuff at this lodge i was looking at straight up offering me a job. Just got back from the interview and we're back in it again. Much larger condo/houses to manage, apparetly waaaaaaay more affluent types of guests, and fuck we'll be doing runs out to the airports to scoop people up from their private planes. Shit just got real, and tbh I want to ski alta a bunch this year so ima get an alta pass.
