Wasn't planning on hitting up this concert after driving home 4 hours from the last Dispatch, but when i heard it was Jerry's birthday, me and my girlfriend made a last minute trip to SPAC to check it out. We were just planning on chillin in the parking lot, but somehow after drinking a few beers, I managed to talk the kid at the ticket window (a brother of a friend of ours) into hooking us up with free lawn tix. Turned out to be a great concert and a great end to the Dispatch roadtrip. Did anybody else check this out?

this show was pretty decent although its nothin to speshul to rave about...shine on you crazy diamond>st stephen was incredible though. The rest of the show was pretty low-energy.

yes i saw them last night in hartford. they had their moments, but overall it was ok. they played shakedown street and eyes of the world which was cool. it's too much warren haynes for my liking, he is very talented be he is not the dead.

yea warren haynes can be a bit oer the top sometimes. I think jimmy herring is a much better fit with the dead. But thats not to say the warren isnt awesome in his own right.

yeah jimmy is a lot better. he doesn't sing bullshit harmonies that make the songs sound like a cover band, plays better solos, and doesn't use effects to make his guitar sound like jerry while he doesn't play like jerry.
