147 pages in the 2010-11 Thread. Here start's next season.

Now the season's over, Boston has the cup for the summer, but it's all up for grabs come autumn. Bump it through the slow summer months as transactions occur

Oh, and to start some tradition: LOL @ Anaheim.

not NHL but i just had to claim how stoked i am. i just bought lower bowl season tickets for the utah grizzlies (echl) for $49!!! i love being hammered at minor league hockey games

I used to do this with Stockton Thunder games, dude...

It was like 65$ season tix there to get drunk and see lots of fights all the time, and bang on the glass... why not? Fucking awesome stuff man. ECHL is super underrated for how fun the games are to attend...

Wild played a good game last night! Their goal tending has been insane and their starting to get into a groove. Can't wait to watch them play the Sharks tomorrow! Should be a great game.

And yes I saw that philly tampa game last night. As a hockey noob here someone help me out. Who was being more lame there philly or tampa for not attacking. I hate our style of playing so much in our end anyway already so honestly I was pretty pissed at the way we were just holding the puck. I don't know much about this silly game though. I was blown away they whistle stopped it and brought it to a face off though, Don't think I've ever seen that happen before.

You also have to take into account that the Sharks were much better than the Wild were last season. Either way I cant wait to watch the game.

That's what I'm saying. I'd say if the Wild win 3/4, it's a much bigger indicator of their turn around than it would be the Sharks' improvement.

If the Sharks win 3/4... then it's just Standard Operating Procedure...

i feel bad for rick nash. every time he plays on team canada he lights it up, but he's stuck on colombus. he's probably one of the greater players of our generation who will have the worst career stats solely based on the fact that his team has always been pathetic.

Just got back from the LA Vancouver game lots of fun, almost as many Canucks fans as there were Kings. Rome for Norris! Should've had two goals though.

It was a good game, the sharks power play was killing it, the wild have been lights out on the PK until tonight. Got to put harding back in net.

Torrey's goal off the draw was sick.

maybe the sharks will make the stanley cup finals this year. lord knows theyre due. even if it was based on chance and not skill, to have that good of a team year after year and choke.. it can't happen every time the post season rolls around, can it?

p.s, i used to play hockey with torrey mitchell. baseball too. he was a solid pitcher. he fuckin beaned me one year with the bases loaded to bring in the game tying run in a round-robin tournament. i crowded the shit out of that plate and he pitched me inside and clipped my knee, hard. good times. come to think of it, i was playing for a teal colored team called the marlins. marlins? sharks? same color jersey? OMYGOSH..

At some point they floated the idea of holding the Victoria Cup between the best european club and the NHL champions I think. I have a feeling that would just feel forced though and come off as too much like an exhibition sort of thing.

Luongo is looking pretty good these past few games. I think the Canucks are still the favourites in the West, but Philly is the favourite in the east for sure now. Man, Jagr looks like a good signing.

Not to mention every other league would get absolutely raped by the NHL. I mean, if you played the best team in the KHL against the Blue Jackets, it might be competitive. The only way the other teams would win would be by virtue of the fact that the NHL team doesn't really care or have anything to play for, like when they do those preseason games in europe against host cities.

ya obviously there would be some things to work out and ya the other league teams would get spanked but it was just a thought, itd be fuckin sick if it could work out. like maybe after a while people on other continents would be more interested in hockey and it would get more and more competitive. about the scheduling, maybe do it in the off season? i dunno, maybe even have less games in the nhl season, that way it would be possible and the importance of winning a regular season game would increase drastically, could make things interesting. obviously its not gonna happen any time soon or at all but i just thought it'd be a cool concept

Yeah... the biggest difference is, that no matter what, the Stanley Cup will still be the holy grail of hockey. Period.

Gold Medals and "Champions League Hockey" could never compare to that...
