I enjoyed that. However I have an issue that he never brought up. Where do sociopaths, sadists, and masochists fit into this "homo-empathic" spectrum?

I wish I were more empathetic...I had to teach myself how to read people's emotions. Makes it really easy for me to read people now but it took a long time before I understood why people acted like they did.

Also he's making a lot of assumptions as to what we "have to do." But it's a very interesting mindset and he brings some great points to the table.

I think I suffer from some kind of selective empathy - it's almost as if nothing real/visceral makes me feel anything (or react) but books, films, comics, art... they can envoke powerful emotions in me as they convey them so obviously. I do feel, but sometimes I think should feel more, especially in relationships, hence why I feel a bit broken from time to time. But, like I said it's selective, sometimes I can empathize with someone's emotions and those have been some of the most real moments in my life.
