just something i experienced with my bruised heel was that it greatly depends on what movements you're doing and exactly how/where it's bruised when mine was bruised i had no problem putting pressure on it and flexing my foot upwards, but downwards or sideways and i would die of pain....
so once i got my foot in my boot i could actually continue skiing, but running or jumping was a no-go for almost 3 months ....
maybe simon had something similar ....
