Big Mountain vs. Street shot....

Pretty interesting that our best photo of the season contest has come down to one super gnar big mountain shot, and a really rad urban shot. That is an absolutely fascinating outcome if you ask me.

Get in there and check that final round and place your votes. Please vote honestly too, I'm really curious to see what the people of Newschoolers are looking at as the best photo in this contest.

Although it's a mesh of two pics, I think the composition is nicer and has a "sould flavour" to it.

The big mountain shot...I didn't even see the skier for a long time.

photographicly neither shot really gets my willys off, but that line is a fucking pant changer in the first shot so there you have it.

i dont like the processing on the big mountain one. what s with the orange.

i dont like the rail shot either.

some other were way sicker, the one with the motocross was dope, the laid backflip was dope.

can someone explain to me why people were able to change photos each round in this contest?

also, like previously stated, those two shots sucks compared to many of the other photos in this contest

neither pop that much IMO but the big mtn one is a crazy line while the street rail isnt anything too crazy so i'd say the top one

How did these 2 end up being the final 2 pictures. I mean they are both great photos, but this is the best photo of the season contest. Are these really the best photos of the year. I really think some other other ones were much better.

Those are good photo's, but definitely wouldn't have expected those to make the finals compared to some of the other entries. NS, I am disappoint.

I picked the big mountain. reasons being: 1) I like the shot 2) I saw him ski the line in person and it was awesome 3) big mountain is king.

no idea how the urban one made it into finals...

as for the other one, gnarly line but whats with the orange?

contest layout seems flawed once again...neither of these deserves the title of best photo of the year.

BUT i voted for the big mountain because at least it took skill to get that shot, the other one could of been shot by the kids mother.

Second photo is downright horrible in my mind. How that got to the finals is completely beyond me, nothing special about it at all. And the big mountain one is decent, but definitely shouldn't have made finals for photo of the year

From all the entries I saw it's interesting that these two ended up being the finalists. You take what you can get though... big mountain shot is better in my opinion.

It's kinda like choosing between a giant douche and a turd sandwich--neither is better in photographic critique, and at the same time, you can't choose whether big mtn skiing or urban skiing is better because they both essentially are skiing (similar to the overall politics of the allusion). It'd be a better contest if one or both were better pictures.

........................that line is wayyyy gnarlier than that rail though..................

The urban shot is for sure a better shot, even though I agree the line is gnarlier.

I hope the urban shot wins, for photography's sake. haha.

but it s still not a "real shot" cause of the portrait.

i dont understand why people would hange their entry.

this is not a ski contest this is a photo contest so that orange picture should never have been in finals..
