I listened to cassettes when i was younger. Then I had a walkman... but I definitely used to record songs i liked on the radio on cassette tapes, on like a nickelodeon alarm clock, holy shit. But kids now are probably going to be remembered as more the iPod generation...

I disagree. I grew up with napster before I even owned CD's.

I think our generation is the generation of internet piracy, and the succeeding one will be one of consumerized internet media.

hell yeah i do. i remember when dvd players came out and were like 500+ bucks. i also remember when mcdonalds gave out a record with the "big mac, a blt, a quarter pounder with some cheese" song contest. i remember taping songs off of the radio on to cassettes. i remember getting 2 live crew as nasty as they wanna be on cassette. i remember the first cd i ever bought was a 2 pac cd from before he blew up...it sucked. i remember when NES came out and blew atari out of the water. we had some dope shit back in the day! ahhh....old school technology!

I remember recording songs on my cassette player off the radio and I would slowly try and shut my door as quietly as I could and tell everyone to shut up while i was taping it. Damnnn all those years ago. But I also thought at that time that Madonna was a dude... So shows what I knew

i don't think i agree, and i think it depends what year this generation starts(since it's generally a term for a group of people born between approx 30 years), because if it includes a large group of people who are now 15, then well, they never even use cds do they? mp3 makes more sense to me...

naw i mean theyre obviously a huge improvement from tapes but ~$20 (how much they cost for a long time) for a disc that can be rendered irreparable and useless from a tiny scratch on the plastic on the bottom is straight up retarded

Seems like anyone ages 14-22 right now could possibly be known as the facebook generation.. not actually but theoretically.. i mean seriously i use facebook a lot and it is useful but i hate how god damn addicting and resourceful it can be

i remember using cassettes. i had a cassette player to listen to music, but then switched to CD's. and floppy disks too haha. those were stupid now that I think about it.

i had a walkman before i had a cd player. but ya CDs were so brutal... I remeber hitting jumps and everytime you landed the thing would skip hard. now you have a shuffle so small u don't even know its there.

so dont sign up for online classes. im in an ecological restoration class this term, spen about 6 hours in the field every week. my buddy is taking the same course online and its only readings....how the fuck do you learn ecological restoration without getting your hands dirty?

Noooo!

Who said that VHS was glorious? I was watching some the other day the quality was worse than youtube. I still have all the original MSP movies on VHS, along with the Warren Miller's. I even have VHS tapes of myself skiing.. damn. I've even got a few floppy disks but no drive... what's going to happen next? Will music all be digital or will we buy memory cards/usb keys with the record on them? I buy stuff on LP and then get digital copies. I like the physical presence of things that I own.. if everything switches to digital I'll feel like I have nothing. It's silly, I know.

Online school is one of the worst ideas ever in my opinion. Discourse is vital to an education and an online chat room is neither talking or discussing. How can you debate a subject? It's absolutely looney tunes.

this is sad but very true. my gf and i would prob not be dating if it wernt for fb. (she asked me for a ride to a game over fb and it was the first time that we had hung out without a big group. found out that day that she's a sick chick)
