I believe you sign in, open the ns channel and anything you post shows up on the quick chat

I think you just have to have the #nschat hashtag and it'll show up in the quickchat. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm pretty sure that's how it works.

I wonder how many NSers sign up for Tweetir just for this Chat and spread the hashtag around.

i know you have reasons to want people to use twitter for it.. but it's sort of a silly way to make a quick chat. i'd like to see it come back as it was way back when.. though it was a total mess and about 10x more filled with bs than NSG haha

The problem with that was server performance. That sidebar loads something like a half million times per day, so it gets assaulted with traffic. The twitter widget makes it easy to manage because it goes through their servers.

Admittedly too, it was a bit of an experiment to see if people on here use twitter.

Personally so far I'd say we're getting pretty mediocre performance. Not sure if I love it... love the concept but I just get the vibe like NSers don't use twitter and the way it loops is a little weird.
