J&J: if we get to affter the shower and brushed teeth, but before I left the door, I can count 6. If we add in the drugs I take to deal with work we can bump it up higher.
Apple/Microsoft: Used products from both, usually before 7 am.
Credit card: You can count two of the companies listed, before you add MC.
Prius are dumb cars. waste of money.

Fed Reserve is running the show.

Do I get bonus points if I own stock in these bad companies? What if I bought gas that came from oil that BP sold to another bad evil oil company? Or used a product that was manufactured with petroleum BP pumped out and produced by J&J?

No fucking shit. US customers are not willing to pay high prices for data services (cable, phone, internet) or for movies (Disney). Thus Comcast has to find a way to lower costs so that they can make a profit providing the service the consumer wants.

Really? microsoft? HA HA HA - ooooh so bad.....

Where are the weapons companies? drugs companies and pharmaceutical companies that test on animals or clothing / sports companies (nike) that use child labor in the far east......?

Anyone who wants to ask me an intelligent question about bp, then fire away - im happy to give anyone an update of the good things to have come out of the disaster in terms of offshore safety improvements and new containment technology that's been developed etc.... they will undoubtedly win that daft thing up there, and probably deserve it, but really - the US needs bp more then bp needs the US right now..... or i guess you must all be really content with the fact that America is now so far in bed and dependant upon Saudi Arabia...? Saudi's or the British? hmmmmmm tough one.... America's short sightedness is truly mind blowing.

Walmart pays all of their assosiates just below the poverty line. Because of that, the US government, not the company, pays for their healthcare. Walmart costs taxpayers over $1.5 billion for health insuance for the employees. The average employee makes around $13,000 a year, while the CEO made $60 million or something like that

no, they don't create jobs.  They blow out local businesses, which takes away jobs.  Then they rehire these recently unemployed people that have nowhere else to work, pay them next to nothing, and scam them for more money in benefits.  I think like 3 or 4 of the top 15 America's richest are on the board of Wal-mart, while all their floor employees, and even some higher positions, are of low income.  I don't understand how Walmart didn't take the bracket

Um....2011 is not over yet, and neither is this poll. That was just a photoshopped version, but way to go. You win the smart points. Check the actual link to see when the voting occurs....

Also, this poll is based on public opinion, which is uninformed since the media reports bullshit all the time and neglects to tell the public the good side of companies a lot of the time. Seriously, who researches any of these companies to see what they've done before submitting their vote? I would hazard a guess the majority just picks based on a scrap of knowledge they might have. Like BP....they caused an oil spill last year so they're assholes. BP has led some concerted efforts in the cleanup in the gulf. Notice how that never made front page or major headlines. The sad thing about polls like these is that they are generally accepted as fact, even though the public often doesn't have a clue what they are talking about. /rant

bank of america is notorious (although every major bank does it) for predatory lending, ridiculous interest rates, bad mortgages, and shelling out tens of millions of dollars in lobbying so that congress doesn't slow their malicious and money making ways.

i know i'm gonna get some hate for pointing to a documentary, but i watched it in a college finance class so its got some credibility, but watch "maxed out." pretty much shows how banks prey on those the least able to pay because they know those are the people who will end up paying the most in interest rates and penalties.

Ticketmaster/ Livenation piss me off the most on a regular basis. $15 in fees on a 20 ticket? Thats fucked up. I stick to independent venues as much as possible for that reason.

Most of these companies can make someone rich if they invest in them in a recession, i mean real rich. Although they can make you poor if you're stupid and don't monitor them on a daily basis like 99% of America.

You need to look at how and why Walmart can sell those products at such a low price. The goods are made in China for EXTREMELY cheap, and the workers there are paid around $7 a week. Walmart encourages them to live in dorm style buildings, which the workers pay rent for. Even if they decide to not live in the dorms, Walmart takes part of their salary for rent. In adition to that, the workers in the US are paid extremely low wages. If you arent some sort of a manager you are probobly going to be paid minimum wage.
Yes, they and every other company is in it to make money. But the exploitation of workers in China and in our own country is shocking

Public opinion is funny. BP was partially responsible for the disaster, I would say around 60%. But don't forget about Haliburton, Transocean, and Anadarko (had WI but really not responsible at all).

BP also picked up the whole bill and paid for their mistake as well as the mistakes of the other companies. Its easy to hate BP but at least they took responsibility.

Not to mention they are pushing the limits of technology. They fucked up, they fucked up huge, and should be punished, but at what point do you say "OK, you repaid your debt."

Also fuck Comcast they are going to take away the free internet and turn it into a tiered corporate mess with the help of congress.

You, sir, should do a little more in depth research on the subject. The issue is hugely more complex than this. There are a lot of underlying socioeconomic issues with any big-box store that goes into a community, but especially walmart.

I would even say the public is at fault for the other 40%. I'm guessing 99.9% of you rely on gasoline-dependent transportation methods, almost everything in your house from computers to refrigerators to paint contains some element of petroleum, and the exotic foods you eat such as fruits year round, coffee, spices, etc, require long-distance travel by some of the most inefficient transportation methods- trucks.

Yes, BP sucks at life and there's a long list of what they did wrong, but look at how dependent we are on petroleum as a nation.... or world even..... we should blame ourselves in some respects.
