New bike

i need a new bike but im on a low budget.  im going to try to make something custom/unique.

any tips or ideas would be great. something like this would be ideal http://www.jellybeanbikes.com.au/build

I'm pretty certain you could find a bike that does the same thing for about $60 in your local trading post or news paper. Find something nice and cheap then re paint it instead of spending a couple of hundred $$ on something like in that link.
