Been watching cable news, and man, we're really out to vilify this guy. Dont get me wrong, he's a terrible dictator who has approved wholesale murder of unarmed civilians, but Wolf Blitzer actually asked a correspondent "Should the US determine his location, would taking him out with a missile be an option?"

One of my friends my middle school moved to Libya a few years ago with his family, and he is still there today. He posted a status about how a video he took had made it on to Al Jazeera after he sent it in to the network, and I asked him how he was doing. Here is the message I got back:

"jamie my man!!! you know whats going on? brooo things here are crazy!!!!!!! this is what happened yesterday when i took my recordings...this is a summary there was more but i dont have time sorry man After frida prayers we all started heading from tajura (my city) to tripoli (about 13 miles away) green square to be exact we were more than 20 thousand in number from tajura and people all over that would join!!! We marched a total of 25 km today going there and back. 2/3 of the way there we started getting fired on by mercenarries live ammunition and tear gas!! they kept on firing till the point we had to retreat there were a good amount dead i witnessed for the first time in my life dead people i have live footage of it all and hopefully when i get free ill try and post it! but thank god we are still safe and the martyrs will be in going to heave... bro the bullets it sounds like they are flying past your ears and the tear gas was horrible... there weapons are abnormal bro high powered machine guns the sound it makes is unbeliievable it echos down the whole street!! good to hear from you bro"

Libya is widely regarded as being part of the Middle East, ranging from Libya to Pakistan. There is no 'Official' Middle East anyway, so it's an empty quarrel about semantics that just aren't there.

Doesnt really sound like many people know what the fucks going on, coverage seemed better on Egypt. 1000 dead, roughly. More on Khadafi's "lunacy" (video of him unbuttoning and rebuttoning his collar before a speech, WOW WHAT A FUCKING NUT).


I hate our nations cable news networks, it really takes a story with little video coverage to bring out the best 'reporting'.

Gaddafi is the baddest motherfucker on the planet. That dude is out of this world crazy, and someone gave him tons of weapons. Fucking. Righteous.

Either way, needs to happen. Arabs don't like the way their system works. It's pretty much common knowledge. Now that Egypt has shown them what could happen, it's gonna be like dominos for the next few years.

I'll be most excited if Saudi and Iran finally erupt.

it took maybe a little too long. like 1 week ago, the rebels had the upper hand and all inhabitants started to follow them. my bet is that gaddafi (german spelling) now has regained a lot more popularity and managed to get more people to support him.

hopefully this shit really fucks up this guy and brings the people of lybia peace.


fuck him, fuck ben ali fuck mubarak. both took billions out of their country for their private enrichment while all countries stayed poor as fuck. and a lot of other dictators all over the world should be overthrown too. lets hope nobody forgets that.

france has always played a role in north africa. and they tend to worry a bit more because they are only separated by the med. sea.

For americans it's a distant concern, but north africa uprisings are europe's business because of the proximity
