So i want too buy a new camera for skiing. I'm looking too spend no more than 500$. What should i buy?

defiently get the go pro HD i got it and at first was a little weary on how it would turn out but the quality is amazing defiently GO PRO HD

not really a good picture camera for under 500 that isn't point and shoot. if you want anything good you going to have to raise that budget a few hundred

Canon S95, no question. $400 or less. Same sensor as the G12 but very compact, shoots Raw, full manual controls.

well do you want something small and compact that can easily fit in a pocket or something bigger with better quality? i have a sony dcs-h55 and its really nice.. easily fits in a pocket and takes great pic.. i think its $330

Go with the gopro HD 1080p great quality fir video AND PICS! $35" max with mounts and stuff plus you will still have enough to buy a LCD screen for to view the pics!

Sony just came out with a pretty sweet one the DSC-HX100V. It even shoots 1080 60p (OP i know you dont want video i am Just saying.)
