um thats cause its illegal and so the price is rediculously high. Any, and all weed farmers were campaigning super hard against legislation to legalize marijuana last year.


and can someone explain to me what all the facts about hemp as a textile have to do with legalizing smokable marijuana?

I can't wait for legalization. It doesn't matter if Canada or the U.S. does it first because the other will follow suit when they see the cash that will come in from tourism. BC will become very very rich when pot is legal. very excite.

not really. most people who want to smoke weed in the states, do. they just dont do it publicly.

and when it becomes legal, growers will be forced to take a massive hit in profits because they have to sell at lower prices to make up for the taxation imposed by the govt.

i didnt read it but, what was their meth/heroin/crack problem like before decriminalization. were their socioeconomic circumstances very similar to that of each area of the US? Are their cultural values the same as that of the entire US?


just cause it works for 1 country doesnt mean it will work for all

dont really need to. Portugal is a tiny country with a completely different set of socioeconomic factors, not to mention culture.

they didnt have the massive ghettos like the US, they didnt have the massive amount of drugs coming into the country like the US, they dont have the massive workforce whose 1 job is to stop illegal drugs.


again just cause it worked in a tiny european country, doesnt mean that it will work in every country...let alone the largest and most diverse country in the world.

really?? you want me to read a 38 page report?? no thanks. I already read the abstract and it does absolutely nothing to prove anything. all it says is that it worked in portugal. It makes no mention of the conditions before, or its applicability to other nations.

I could say the same thing about oakland. drugs are pretty much decriminalized because cops dont have enough manpower to even respond to burglaries let alone drug usage. Has that stopped drug usage, or the trafficking of it? NO. has it increased it? NO. -Here's an example of how essentially decriminalizing drugs in oakland had no effect.

basically it is a useless link, unless you seriously expect people to read 38 pages.

no. basically, your argument is invalid until you have read all the facts. wow, well done, you read the abstract. did you really expect to gain any vital facts/stats from reading that? i said read it all because i thought i was talking to an intelligent person who wouldn't make judgments based off a city in cali, which is totally irrelevant. read the goddamn report, or at least try and read some important parts in it. until then, whatever you say means nothing

again. its a small country, and that policy would not work when applied to a large county with a massivly diverse population. And you didnt read the article, or the article just plain sucks. If you did read it you might be able to have a discussion with me...ie. point-conterpoint.
