'Olenick Banned From Canada

Everyone’s favorite freeskier, Peter Olenick, isn’t the favorite of the Canadian Border Patrol, or whatever they’re called up there. In fact, they’re not going to let him into the country this summer.

Last week, Pete was headed north with a truck full of Obermeyer clothing, Salomon skis, and a hundred hand-knit hats from Pete and Meg Olenick’s hat company. The hats were going to be sold and the Obermeyer gear given away at High North Ski Camp over the course of the summer. However, the Canadian border authorities had different ideas.

'We went to go across the border, and they searched my truck,' Pete said. The first problem was with Customs, who wouldn’t let Pete bring in thousands of dollars worth of skiing merchandise 'to give away.' The Obermeyer gear and the hats were seized, threats were made, and Pete ended up having to pay $500 to get the gear back. Then the border officials found out that Pete was planning to work in Canada without a work permit, which is apparently a major no-no. As a parting shot, Immigration let Pete know that he wouldn’t be allowed into the country for a full year. 'They were such assholes,' Pete said of the encounter. 'We were just going up there to work so we could stay for free and ski.'

'We were going to commando it up through the woods in Washington to get up there, but decided it was a bad idea,' Pete said. That was probably a good decision, because it’s hard to be a ski superstar when you’re sitting in a Canadian prison.

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. 'She hates guys,' Pete lamented, 'so it’s not going good.' Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.'

How dare Canada enforce its laws regarding immigration, work permits, and truck fulls of merchandise that could have just as easily been sold as given away. Who the hell do we think we are to do such a thing? And to someone like Peter Olenick too? Oh, my, what is this world coming to?

Seems pretty simple to me: You want to work in the US, you need a work permit. You want to work in Canada, you need a work permit. Yes, you can cover a shooting trip by saying 'We're going on a ski trip', but a truck full of gear and 'we're working at a summer camp' usually won't cut it if you want to get in.

So Canada enforced its laws? Why are people so pissed off?

Just because their enforcing laws doesn't mean that the laws are even close to being fair. Those border fucks act as if they own the entire country of Canada and just because they may not like the look of your face, they will turn you back. They could really care less. Or if you look like you may have smoked weed one time in your life, then you are going to get harassed.
Is one truck full of gear really going to ruin the Canadian's economy? Fuck that, it just sounds like they were being incredible assholes.
And then PEP got turned away too!! Where is the story for Pep?? All because he took some alchohol? That is redic. They are being WAY to strict.
You know what we need to do, is gather up a HUGE crew of people and just charge the border. Breaking everything and slapping those fags around, to show that they can't fuck with us no more. They don't even treat people with respect. I hope I see one of those fuckers on the street sometime.

hoodratz47, the only reason the US would win would be by pure numbers.

Canadian military schools (2 of them) put out 4 teams into the annual competition between military schools in Canada and the U.S. There were 48 US teams... and guess who won?

1st to 4th place were the 4 Canadian teams. The first place team scored 998/1000, and the others just a couple points behind. 5th place to 52nd place were the U.S. schools, 5th place's score was under 800/1000.
